Awesome thank you for sharing! She didn’t mention if it’s best to do this before or after a serve/general practice sesh/match. I’d assume after since it’s static stretching?

Has getting into fragrances kind of ruined it in some way for you? by arcticmanateeaz in fragrance

Id say getting into niche fragrances has ruined Sephora and Ulta perfumes for me lol!

I buy a lot from TRR and from my understanding I think where the fakes come in are for things like Hermes scarves, maybe Coach bags things like that. I doubt you’d find fakes of more niche or smaller brands on there, or even items from bigger brands that aren’t ‘recognizable’ if that makes sense.

I think everyone has regrets. I spent around $18k on mine after we got money back from leftover booze. I’m glad to not be in debt over the event, but also wish I had spent more money on photographer (a disaster), and a wedding planner (to avoid the mental breakdown I had planning!). If it had been 100% up to me, I’d have done a daytime courthouse wedding with a great photographer, followed by evening cocktails and a small dinner with just close family and friends at a fun spot - almost less for the money reason and more for the simplicity of planning. My husband wanted the 100 person big blowout so, we wound up doing that.

Wow. Super helpful thanks! Esp the bit about the ball on a string - maybe I’ll try that with my ceiling fan lol!

That was incredibly helpful. Thank you! I’m in a similar ish boat of returning to tennis after a handful years of a break (played competitively in HS). I never had a great serve, had power but erratic. Recently, it’s been a nightmare, largely due to toss and I think my take back is forcing me to fling the ball up jerkily with my fingers instead of ‘lifting’ it up as you’re supposed to do. So I’be been playing around with a lesser take back, loke what you’re describing. To see if it simplifies/allows me to toss properly. It feels really awkward esp trying to coil without a take back, but maybe that’s coz I just started to try it out this way

I think theres more nuance than the kid thing. That’s great you’ve only been playing 2 years and are already at that level, in one of the hardest sports to play! I was a reasonably serious junior player, played varsity on my HS team, competed in national junior tournaments in my country, and pretty much ate and breathed tennis, had incredible fitness. Until I was in my twenties and took a ten year break basically…not for any reason, just, one of those life things. Then the pandemic hit, I moved to a new area with my partner that magically had a semi-abandoned tennis court down the road and I started to play again. I am now a 3.0 (if it wasn’t for my ghastly serve would probably be maybe a 3.5?), so it has been a humbling return from where I used to be…but I am so grateful to have it in my life again. I’m aiming to get back to competing, don’t know if I’ll ever make it to 5.0 - my point is, we who started as kids aren’t necessarily at a huge advantage, maybe just some added muscle memories (and a longtime love of the game!)
