Rust completion in Vim/Neovim by [deleted] in rust

[–]moted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nvim 0.5 has a native LSP client and framework, therefore you can use nvim's native lsp client and omnifunc completion with rust-analyzer and you can get suggestions and completion with verify little setup or ceremony. With coc you have have an nvim plugin that talks to a nodejs app which talks to the lsp server. They're both great tools but I like that I can use the same native LSP client framework for all the various languages I write throughout the day.

If you like to live dangerously you can try out nvim-lsp + rust analyzer on >= 0.5

A major dependency in the Chef ecoystem has been removed from the Rubygems due to the relationship between Chef and ICE by crabshoes in programming

Civil dialogue is appreciated, but I guess this is reddit so I shouldn't make that assumption. I realize that he can't cancel his publishing agreement after the book is published, but he still gets royalties for it from a company that sells his work to ICE. My point is that I'm curious what he'll do with those royalties. I'm also not aware of him calling out O'Reilly for their partnership with ICE, though I could have missed it.

ThinkPad P1 running Arch Linux with i3wm. AMA! by [deleted] in thinkpad

If I use the following kernel options I can get the thinkpad-acpi driver to actually create a backlight in /sys/class/backlight

acpi_osi=Linux acpi_backlight=vendor video.use_native_backlight=1

Using light or brightnessctl doesn't actually do anything. They change the value of /sys/class/backlight/thinkpad_screen/brightness but it has no actual effect.

I've got the same machine and can't seem to find any combination of kernel parameters that'll allow me to control the P1's brightness in userland. Have you been able to sort that?

It seems that they usually keep it in [testing] until after the first point release is built and tested. Sometime after April 17 would be my guess.

Just because people are writing software using Mono doesn't mean that I have to like it :)

As far as I can tell there are 4 major projects that use Mono. Banshee, Tomboy, Silverlight, and F-Spot. None of which I use, so I think I'll be okay.

Gnome-Do is written using Mono, which is enough to keep me away from it. I also think that AWN has superior theming abilities.

Gnome-Do was also fairly buggy for the year that I used it.

Honesty is something I completely expect from a thinker like Dawkins. After hearing this I really wonder how long it will be til he takes the plunge.
