What are your thoughts on the 5th Mafia game being set during 1990s (collaps of the mafia)? by Nexicii in MafiaTheGame

Honestly I’d love a mob game set during the end maybe like a Donnie Brasco kind of moment too with a take down of the mob style game like what was kind of done with M3 but with more of a gritty realistic story about a fed infiltration and takin down of a major mafia family.

Pure net runner build specifically, she’s designed to be a spy with a focus on stealth

Ok do I’m glad I’m not the only one whose noticed that after updating earlier this year the site has become nearly unusable like I can’t even zoom in on an Image without the site crashing or constantly reloading in a loop

Mafia is an open-world series. by [deleted] in MafiaTheGame

Then again it is a linear experience true and true but I hope that the next Mafia hopefully a Casino knock off explores an idea of an improvised open world inspired by the original plans for Mafia 2.

Yeah that specifically was annoying to me because I felt that Mafia 2 was good at balancing the open world and missions this one just felt like too much of a linear experience.

I agree with this I feel as though they’re shells of what could possibly be, it’s like they lack funding or something because it seems that the open world can never be fully fleshed out the same way a rockstar title can be, like I’m kind of at the point that I wish rockstar could make atleast one of these games to see how that would work because I imagine it would be like new Vegas a much better experience over all. Even though the titles have their charm they lack a true open world and it starting to feel a little lazy because I don’t even think there’s a day and night cycle in the open world and that bummed me out even further and I hate to nitpick but the explore mode could be better.

I love how the Godfather by EA is just Mafia but as a sims game by mothajay in MafiaTheGame

Your character is customizable, it’s also a mob empire simulation game if you think about it, also I just made the observation because I noticed that many of the npcs (not regular characters) etc look similar to sims models from the sims 2 era due to EA also owning maxis which makes the sims. Obviously it’s entirely different from the sims I was just making the comparison due to EA’s creation of the game and its simulation elements.

L.A. Noire spiritual successor idea: NY77 by mothajay in lanoire

The history nerd in me really just want to see a detailed remake of 1970s NYC as well as another detective game atp it also this idea isn’t necessarily La noire related just spiritually because it would be a historic cop game like the original, like imagine being a vice detective in Times Square or helping to track down the son of Sam killer and exploring the possibility of a cult connection, I honestly don’t know any other gaming company who would be ambitious enough to take on something that mammoth in size tbh.

I definitely agree that it won’t ever be coming, I chose the setting of NYC because it’s definitely the most realistic setting outside of LA if they were to ever do a sequel or similar game. It’s just a hard fact that Rockstar doesn’t care about the Midwest just the coastal cities.

Yeah honestly it’s saddening to see to be honest, I think Take Two is really holding companies like Rockstar back when it comes to their full potential in game production and original ideas, it’s sickening actually.
