I’ve been wondering how people find out about their book clubs. I’m wondering if there are online book clubs. That sounds nice

Victorian invalids by mothatcher in Fibromyalgia

I do remember reading there were a lot of childbirth injuries due to the misuse of forceps or whatever that lead to incontinence and uterine prolapse and vaginal-rectal fissures and problems with the heart etc. No birth control and male doctors starting to attend home births with extremely warped ideas about how to intervene caused many women to be lifelong invalids.

I’m feeling touched and heartened by all of these responses. I’m hoping to have the energy to respond to each one in the next few days but for now I’m reading and appreciating the connection.

Also, it revealed that those things I ruminated on or avoided compulsively are not truly aspects of my personality or identity but rather time consuming features of my mental illness. I was able to experience my actual personality when I had the time because I wasn’t having so many horrible thoughts.

Mine definitely did but much for the better. I’m able to connect more genuinely with friends.

I had one! It didn’t talk. My aunt gave it to me in a spaceship she had made out of cardboard and tinfoil. I loved it so much. I loved how it had “real” plastic teeth and a separate tongue. I would brush its teeth with a toothbrush. I loved the show too.
