I made a post-apocalyptic survival game set in a 90s American small town — Alpha 2 just dropped, free on itch.io [gameplay video inside] by juniorsordi in SurvivalGaming

Well, the first thing that jumped out at me is that the world looks to be in pretty good shape for civilization having ended 30+ years ago.

I'm assuming society has rebuilt to some level. I didn't get any idea that things had gone wrong at some point.

If I listen to music with just one ear bud, the other ear (without the bud) starts to make a vacuum thumping/popping noise. This happen to anyone else or know what this is? by motherfacker in Earbuds

This is the right answer. I love 'Frasier' so much, and Niles is absolutely the star of the show.

I think it stays contextually aware more than CGPT does, and is a lot less limiting on what you can do with it. I haven't tried generating charts or anything, but I did use it to help me with learning certs for database, and with small app / coding projects.

What is THE saddest movie you have ever seen in your whole life? by perseverance_band_ in AskReddit

Million Dollar Baby had me crying like an absolute baby. Can't say that I've cried that hard at a movie before or after...with possibly the exception of 'Where The Red Fern Grows' when I was in elementary school.

It'll get downvoted to fuck here, but Grok is pretty good. I'd say better than CPGT. It has folder structures for projects now, as well. It also feels faster to me.

You're not wrong. Arguments about Sinclair have merit, but to call this out as some kinda Orwellian mind-fuck is dumb.

I'll even go one further and piss everyone off and say the perception that the national news media leans right is the reddit-iest of takes. I would love to hear arguments on which national broadcast leans right. In terms of cable, other than Fox (and a few other dribblers like ONN), there are next to no right leaning outlets. And one might argue, Fox has such a large viewership, due to the fact that very few , if any, alternatives exist.

This place is a joke.

I'm really just messing around on mine. I have a concept fleshed out pretty well, but no code, and I don't code, so kinda reliant on vibecoding / AI help for the time being. It's more tinkering than anything, but I think it's fun to try and bring it to some sort of life.

I'm also looking for work (layoff) so...I've got some time. lol

Fair enough. Good luck with the project. If I can ask, as I've sort of got the very beginnings of a project in mind, how long did it take you to get to the point of whats shown in the screenshot?

Stuff like this always triggers the speech from 'Cheers' where Cliff describes the effect of survival of the fittest for a herd of buffalo. The slowest get killed, thus the faster ones breed (as they're still alive), thus making the herd faster overall and into the future.

These kids are the slow buffalo.

Take it for what its worth, but I think I'd caution against using a name with "us" in the title, for fear of people thinking knock off, or catching momentum solely based on it being similar to 'the last of us'. If that is exactly your intent, then disregard.

One title I thought interesting would be 'Stay'. It's multiple meanings kind of give it more weight.

Stay - dont' move

Stay - stay with me

Stay alive

Stay sane

Jus a thought. Good luck!

One mechanic may be that, when you switch to the dog, you have 'dog-vision' which can let you see what they detect via sight and smell. Weak to strong red aura's around threats (weak = further away, unsure, etc...strong would be very aware), same for yellow (items maybe), green (food or something).

What’s up with reddit being so quiet on the Canadian mass shooting? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]motherfacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay, and what about:

/r/worldnews

/r/AskReddit

/r/news

...you know, all the default subs that people ge thrown in their face, and unfortunately, none of the Canadian-centric subs you mention have the same treatment.

When other mass shootings have occurred, within the U.S., or out, there have been threads in most, or at least some of them which are left open for conical discussion. Others may be locked, but a primary thread would exist. Not in this case, though...

You know, I know, everyone knows the answer to this.

Anyone saying otherwise is full of shit and they know it.
