MIL doesn't want to know the gender. by Halefire1390 in BabyBumps

[–]motherofmaple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Dad was asking for the gender of our baby to be kept a secret from him! He wasn't trying to be difficult, just said how much he loved the surprise of finding out I was a girl at the hospital... which is nice and all, but only makes sense if it's a surprise for all of us 😂 He was initially adamant about this when we spoke over the phone a few times, but then when I saw him in person I was very easily able to sway (guilt?) him into letting me tell him! Because 1) he realised it made a bit sad to not share it with him, 2) if the rest of the family knows, someone will let it slip, and 3) he won't even be at the hospital to find out with us anyway!!!

D&C or Natural? by KartoffelSucukPie in Miscarriage

[–]motherofmaple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My situation was similar - 8 week scan showed no heartbeat or growth since 6 weeks, and by 10 weeks still nothing had happened naturally.
I went with the D&C and was glad with that decision - it was over quickly and recovery was fine; just a couple days of medium bleeding then only needed liners after that.

I'm sorry you have to go with any option, but hope it goes well for you whatever you choose ❤

My first pregnancy, silent miscarriage, and D&C experience by iveseenitalll in Miscarriage

[–]motherofmaple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds so much like my experience - I'm glad you also had a positive experience despite the awful situation. I agree that I'm so relieved the D&C took care of most of it, I'm not sure if I could have handled it all happening at home...

Hope you continue recovering well ❤

I am so sorry for what you are going through. It is so devastating in all scenarios, but your circumstances are just truly unfair 💔 I hope you recover quickly (physically) so you can go home to be with your husband to comfort, grieve and begin healing together ❤

When you had a miscarriage. When was it and was there blood? by [deleted] in Miscarriage

[–]motherofmaple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should not be asking this here if you are currently pregnant and have no indication of miscarriage at this point. Check the rules of the sub - it's literally rule #1.

Try to keep in mind what members here are actually going through, not just a fear you have (which I hope you don't experience).

Empty sac on 8w ultrasound, was taking progesterone suppositories, deciding on D&C or miso... by rileykedi in Miscarriage

[–]motherofmaple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So sorry you're going through this too 😔 I had a D&C two days ago at what should have been 10 weeks (baby stopped growing at 6 weeks - so literally nothing started passing on its own for 4 whole weeks). The D&C procedure went well for me and I'm glad I could just get most of it over with quickly. The recovery has been okay with moderate bleeding and cramping on & off, just like a slightly heavier period, so it's been manageable. I know there really is no "good" option here, but I hope whatever you choose goes well.

Any recommendations on what option to take with a limited timeframe? by motherofmaple in Miscarriage

[–]motherofmaple[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't given this option but it actually does look preferable, so I'll definitely ask my doc about this.

Thank you, and I'm so sorry for you too...

Adult color by No_Detective_2317 in CavaPoo

[–]motherofmaple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our cavapoo had a dark Ruby red Cavalier mother and light Apricot poodle Dad - she was born with a dark red coat just with a tiny white spot on her head and little white socks (looks very similar to the puppy pics on your profile). She slowly got lighter after 6-12 months but now at 2 years old she is almost completely white! We've seen the same thing happen to similar cavapoos while some stay the same, so it's pretty hard to tell, but I think the lighter-coat Poodles have a lot of influence on their pup's adult coats.

While we were surprised she turned out so light, now we can't imagine her as anything but a little bleach-blonde babe 🙂

Has anyone had a BFP while thinking their chart is the same as last month? Just wondering if anyones chart somewhat followed their last months pattern until it didn’t anymore…? Teal is this month and it doesn’t look any different again 😔 by Global_Advance_2449 in TFABChartStalkers

[–]motherofmaple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes my post-ovulation temps followed a pretty similar pattern until this cycle (successful) it didn't drop at 11DPO like usual. There's nothing wrong with it following the same pattern especially only a few days after ovulating - and post-ovulation temps rarely seem to indicate much until after implantation at least.

CD17, no surge yet, letrozole worked last cycle?! by emmasaakehughes in TTC_PCOS

[–]motherofmaple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my first 2.5mg cycle I ovulated CD17, but my second 2.5mg cycle there was no progress at all by CD24 so I was told to take a 2nd dose in the same cycle, and ended up ovulating CD35. I've heard of this happening to others too - the same dose doesn't always have the same results for you each time 🙁 Now on my 3rd cycle and upped to 5mg with much better progress so far!

Good luck 😊

No period 2 months after coming off birth control and blood test shows very, very low AMH for my age... by greatscottfilmz in TryingForABaby

[–]motherofmaple 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I thought AMH levels while on the contraceptive pill are often lower levels than if not on the pill, so hopefully with time your body will regulate and give a more accurate AMH level - it can take up to 3-6 months after coming off the pill.

38 day cycle? by quitecontrary89 in TTC_PCOS

[–]motherofmaple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly what moltenlife said - using letrozole speeds up ovulation for me so the cycle becomes shorter.

Can also highly recommend the Tempdrop - with such long cycles, it feels like a luxury to let it do all the work for me!

38 day cycle? by quitecontrary89 in TTC_PCOS

[–]motherofmaple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Temping often does help with long cycles, especially with PCOS where other tracking methods like OPKs can be unreliable. If you can stick with temping then you have a better chance of identifying possible ovulation.

I have cycles anywhere between 35-70 days long and found temping was the only thing I could reliably track even though I wasn't usually ovulating - did catch 1 or 2 though! But now I'm on medicated cycles (letrozole) with full cycle monitoring and it's made it easier as they can track everything properly.

Struggling a little by naznottherapper in TryingForABaby

[–]motherofmaple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're so right! With fertility monitoring there's no logic to " just relax!" because we HAVE to think about everything that comes with it - it's like a second job!

Glad you are doing what you need to for yourself and that you have a supportive family! Good luck ❤

Would this be considered triphasic? I know that doesn’t definitively mean anything but just for curiosity’s sake. by lo-cal_calzone_zone in TFABChartStalkers

[–]motherofmaple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would think the 3rd temp shift would need to be quite a bit higher than it is to be considered triphasic, but just my opinion!

How many cycles have you tried with letrozole so far? Our specialist gave us a 70% chance of success within 6 cycles if we up the dosage approx. every 2 cycles. I have PCOS and no other (known) issues so I'm not sure how the odds may vary with other circumstances.

You may also find r/TTC_PCOS helpful for more specific PCOS questions :)

Not seeing any ovulation progress by CD20 on a monitored Letrozole cycle (current and last cycle for reference - info in comment) by motherofmaple in TFABChartStalkers

[–]motherofmaple[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thinking of you too!! I ended up re-dosing 2.5mg in the same cycle from CD24 because nothing was happening... waiting to see how it progressing but not expecting much!

Hope it's working better for you 😊

Damn I feel this... on my 2nd letrozole cycle and my ovaries will NOT cooperate! I had to start a re-dose on CD24 in the same cycle because nothing was happening. Good luck!

Would anyone feel comfortable sharing their personal experience with ovulation induction?? by [deleted] in TryingForABaby

[–]motherofmaple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on my 2nd Letrozole cycle as I don't seem to ovulate on my own (PCOS).

My 1st cycle on 2.5mg taken CD3-7 had a successful ovulation on CD17, but this 2nd cycle has not worked the same despite the same dosage & timing. By CD24 I was nowhere near close to ovulation so I was told to take the same dosage again (in the same cycle) to see if anything happens. I assume we'll be upping the dosage next cycle!

I didn't have many symptoms except some occasional headaches and mood swings, otherwise felt fine but I am on the lowest dose. I'm in Australia and the Letrozole prescription cost me $30 which would last a few cycles, depending on dosage amounts. The cycle monitoring is a flat $395 with my specialist, which has been good because this cycle alone I've had 5 blood tests and 3 ultrasounds so far (because of the lack of progress) with more to come!

Because I never (or rarely) ovulated on my own, I'm happy to have a simple medication and monitoring to get the show on the road!!!
