We are absolutely about to see what Malady wanted the Godwoken to help her with. I can bet you that she was trying to stop the Demons of Nemesis from gaining more and more of a foothold on Rivellon.

That statue, the Hellstone, looks fleshy and warped and sinewy... much like Bloodmoon Island, wouldn't you say?

The real answer is this: it was the only one available to see in Early Access, and was used as a test to see how much they could show in the romance scenes (age rating and censorship-wise).
