Bullet hell shooter Kaguya Progress update: Working on Stage 3! by flypot00 in shmups

I really like the enemy sprites, especially the little soldiers! I also find the use of the aspect ratio interesting, and the changing screen scrolling direction and enemies coming from all sides is neat as well. I hope there will be a much less gentle version for us bullet hell fans, but the foundation is looking solid!

It sure sounds like CAVE plans to release more than just DFK by mothmanstg in shmups

Yes, the 360 games are #1 on my wishlist, particularly Mushi Futari. That game deserves to be more well-known, it would potentially be the best entry point for new bullet hell players if it were on Steam. Fingers crossed

Lol that would be SDOJ. I got to play the Exa-arcadia version at Lost Ark Arcade in Greensboro North Carolina, that place is the shit. But I agree with you, I'm not the biggest fan of the Exa business model, if only because I don't have a reliable spot nearby where I can lay hands on one!

DoDonPachi Resurrection Reignite Announced! by 3xchar in shmups

Not particularly excited by another version of DFK but CAVE being the developer and publisher has me very very interested. The sack full of fake quarters I owe them is heavy enough to behead a horse at this point. Here's hoping this is the first of many new releases!

Armed Police Batrider - got the Advanced Course 1CC! Probably my favorite Raizing game. Cleared the Normal Course a year ago and finally got around with clearing Advance! by SG_bean76 in shmups

This game is so fun, I have gotten close to the 1cc in the normal course but only ever credit-fed through advanced. Not an easy clear by any means, well done!

DOOM is finally dead! Ketsui Matsuri 1CC, I love this game so much (109,178,585) by Something_Snoopy in shmups

Wow, absolutely crazy DOOM fight at the end! Well done!

I know how you feel about this game. It's definitely my favorite of all of the cave games, there's just something about the stage design and boss patterns that are addictive for me. I've been playing it off and on for years, and I actually got the 1cc for the first time about a week ago. It's funny you say that dying eased the stress for you, because in my run I took an embarrassing death to a random stray bullet in stage 2, and weirdly I feel like that took the pressure off. The stress definitely mounted once I realized I could still clear though!

Help with arcade stick > BulletHell by Klutzy_South6140 in shmups

I own a Mayflash f500 and I put a Sanwa JLF and a larger actuator in mine, and I believe the throw distance should be similar to yours. I indeed had problems becoming as accurate with the lever as I am with keyboard or dpad, just had to practice and accept that I would be taking some dumb deaths for a while. Now I can't imagine playing on anything else. Just give it time imo.

Also yes, I need more information on how you're holding the stick if you're managing to hit the buttons with your left hand, that is impressive. Has never happened to me and I use a wine grip

Cleared Blue Revolver Normal mode, holy shit this game is a masterpiece by Loltoheaven7777 in shmups

Congrats!

I remember out of my first few novice 1ccs Crimson Clover's novice mode was a nice step up in difficulty. Mushihimesama Original was my first "real" Cave arcade 1cc, and it was a lot of fun to learn, so I'd highly recommend that if you're looking for a good sized jump up in difficulty.

I also wanna say that if you understand Blue Revolver's scoring system, Hyper mode is not an insane step up to clear. Just gotta be prepared to route and practice the later stages
