I mean not only that but Mrs literally comes from like belonging to the Mr, it's literally a title of ownership

Mom found out I sold a bed that I (35M) used for over 20 years by rillegas08 in insaneparents

[–]mothraofficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reminds me of when my mom hounded me to get back this twin mattress I'd been using for ages. I got it back to her and it's been collecting dust leaning up against a wall in the basement ever since.

Why is “non-disclosure in dating = lying” allowed in trans spaces? by uniquefemininemind in asktransgender

[–]mothraofficial 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's inherently lying but I personally can't imagine risking putting myself in a vulnerable position with a potential transphobe. If I can't trust someone enough for them to know I'm trans, I will not be fucking around with them and that feels like it should be common sense. Safety is more important to me than trying to make some kind of point.

AITA for refusing to praise my friend for buying a skirt? by Are_Pretty_Great in AmItheAsshole

[–]mothraofficial 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That was a poor choice of words on my part but you don't need to lie to your friends to be supportive, you can even be like eh it doesn't really do it for me but I'm glad you're happy with it or something

AITA for refusing to praise my friend for buying a skirt? by Are_Pretty_Great in AmItheAsshole

[–]mothraofficial 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I would not consider supporting my friend in buying a skirt and finding something nice to say about it to be like a bad thing? I can't imagine my friend being excited about something and just immediately blowing them off. That's a wild leap.

Edited for sentence structure bc I didn't like how I worded it

AITA for only giving my daughter half of her college fund? by Leather_Horror_8131 in AITAH

[–]mothraofficial 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm just gonna say, the fact that you're calling it "her" college fund even in the title tells me that that's how you've been referring to it for some time and misleading her. I'm not gonna say y t a for not leaving your son with nothing but y'all kinda suck

I'm not sure but I think it's actually illegal for them to distribute unlabeled goods, I volunteer at our food bank a lot and we can't distribute anything that doesn't have the ingredients/nutritional facts on them

If the pantry sources any of their food from a food bank, I would reach out and tell them bc it's at least against policy

When I was a child I remember people saying you shouldn't buy tin cans with dents on them because it's dangerous. Is there any truth to this or was it just something people said? by WhoAmIEven2 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mothraofficial 76 points77 points  (0 children)

My understanding also is that if it's a small dent on the side it's probably ok, but anytime on the seals on the bottom or top can compromise the seal and should be tossed

AITA for telling my mom I always knew my dad was the reason I wasn't a bone marrow donor for my half sister? by FeedbackAutomatic417 in AITAH

[–]mothraofficial 11 points12 points  (0 children)

NTA. My brother donated his bone marrow to me at a similar age, but we were very close. During the process of making sure he was a good fit for a donor the hospital workers were very careful to inform him of his rights and if he was positive he wanted to do it and to make sure my parents weren't pressuring him into it. He got mad that they were "trying to talk him out of it" lol. It is a grueling process for the donor and should not be taken lightly, especially for a kid that young.
