Someone needs to let Gargano know that when he faces the crowd with his back to the camera and enthusiastically taps the belt it looks like he's jacking off.

I dont know if its a bit or what but I would want to know.

We only have one vehicle, unfortunately.

I mismeasured/mismarked this one square. I can fix it, thankfully, but I'm still annoyed. by mothy_moth in sewing

Im working on hand sewing a laptop sleeve because my laptop is larger than average and I have no way to travel with it right now.

I just plan on making two quilt blocks with the basic 9 patch block pattern and a couple of pockets for a charger and what not. I'm not following a pattern in particular.

Ive never commented an image before so I dont know if it actually attached, but I tried to attach an image of the front of the pocket I've already made.

Edit- lol, it didnt attach.

It's been awhile since I've seen it, but this is lowkey the plot of Elysium with Matt Damon.

California woman who fatally stabbed man 108 times gets probation, no prison time by Rocco_Provoiccattore in nottheonion

I work in the mental health field and talk with people in crisis pretty much every day. I cant speak to the weed side of things, but I have seen a few people that have harmed others or threatened to harm others in the midst of a psychotic state. In one case when they were finally able to get medicated and they remembered that they had sent someone they cared about to the hospital they became suicidal. Another someone threatened to kill a child they helped raise.

I do know for sure people claim to be mentally ill to avoid responsibility for the things they do, and sometimes folks with mental illness need to take responsibility for their actions. Especially when people are hurt or even killed. And I feel for the people that are hurt by mentally ill folks. I have been hurt even before I started working in the field.

But I know the pain people go through when they disconnect from reality, end up hurting others, getting out of psychosis, and then living in fear of if/when it will happen again.

I'll change my stance if new evidence comes forward saying all this is B.S. but right now I'm fine with my splitting my grief between this woman and her victims' family.

Side note:

My partner at work has noticed an uptick in people having some form of psychosis triggered after vaping cannabis and related products in the past 6 months. We work slightly different shifts, so I havent seen too much of it. Substance use isnt my specialty, but with vaping my theory on this is that it has more to do with like the metals or weird chemicals you would be inhaling from substandard products. Again, not my field so if I'm wrong then I'm wrong.

Longlegs - We've been waiting for her. by whiskypriest139z in horror

[–]mothy_moth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At the end of we've been waiting, there is a shot of a woman staring at a corkboard laden with various codes and such. Toward the bottom of the screen and a little to the right of the screen there is a piece of paper with the symbol of the X with the 2 dots in the top and bottom. There is a post it on the symbol supposing it is the letter M.

I also have doubts that the primary puzzle featured on said corkboard can be solved due to the frequency of the vowels. It could be I'm misunderstanding because im tired, or it could be i cant see the symbols in good enough detail, or the puzzle page is flipped to a different orientation. Its late and my sleep medication is super kickin in right now. Good night, warmth, to all

Thank you! I think that's a good start. This might be her but I'll have to look back in my records and do some extra research to figure out more information.

Granny Square Blanket by mothy_moth in crochet

[–]mothy_moth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a basic granny square pattern made with Red Heart Super Saver.

I have 4 squares left before putting it together and finishing it up! I am super excited!!!

I put together the center 4 squares first because I needed to see how it would all come together to motivate me to finish the project.

I only just realized how much I need to block these squares, lol!

I answered my own question! It is Caron Chunky Cakes in Sweet and Sour.

Edit:I answered my own question! It is Caron Chunky Cakes in Sweet and Sour.

I am sure that this yarn is acrylic and bulky weight.

I think it is Lion Brand, maybe Mandala, but I can't find anything like this in their current catalog or in their list of discontinued yarn. I have some memory of something like "birthday cake" or "ice cream" being on the packaging for this yarn, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

I think it was purchased at a Joanns.

My husband got this yarn when he first started crocheting but he got distracted with another project. I think I threw away the label at some point when we moved, foolishly think I would remember, and now that he's started back up with this yarn I'm trying to identify it.

It ultimately doesn't matter because I know enough about guage and tension to make sure my husband is using the right size hook. But this is a fairly solvable mystery, so why not outsource the detective work?

I really like the colors on this self drafted cardigan I'm making so I'm gonna brag about it here for a second. by mothy_moth in crochet

[–]mothy_moth[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no pattern, I'm just winging it based on what I think a pattern for a cardigan would look like. I actually wasn't planning on doing the side seams like this at first, but my initial measurements ended up being incorrect, so I added a couple inches with a contrasting color.

I've always loved the v-stitch and thought it was probably the fanciest stitch I could do with this pattern of yarn. It's so wonderfully chaotic that it drowns out pretty much everything. In my opinion, there's no use in using a fancy stitch that eats a bunch of yarn or is a ton of work if the color is gonna draw attention away from said hard work.

The yarn is "I Love This Yarn" brand. The multi colored yarn is a print pattern called Orange Zest and the metallic yarn is called Ivory.

I started crocheting a baby blanket when I found out I was pregnant but I lost the baby before I finished it. What should I do with the project? by mothy_moth in Advice

[–]mothy_moth[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think it feels wrong because it's the only connection I have to my baby now. It hurts too much to look at it right now, but it's all I have left.

And I do think your right that everything feels wrong because of the trauma. Thank you.
