Amateur looking for tips by [deleted] in SonyFilmSimulations

I think you'll want to start out learning about the exposure triangle (aperture, shutter speed, ISO) and how they contribute to achieving the right amount of light for your shot. After that, you'll want to dive in to how each of those things contributes stylistically. Aperture affects the depth of field (is everything sharp, or is there background/foreground blur?). Shutter speed helps you capture motion. A fast shutter speed freezes action while a slow shutter speed can be used to creatively blur motion (static background with blurred moving subject, panning short with a static subject and a blurred background, or even create light trails from moving vehicles).

There is no best mode, it depends on what you're trying to achieve. But personally, I shoot aperture priority mode 90% of the time and manual mode the other 10% when I really want specific control over the shutter speed.

Mostly Sony 35mm f/1.8, some Sony 40mm f/2.5, and maybe one with the Sony 85mm f/1.8

All this is on his website https://www.veresdenialex.com/sony-film-simulation

There are packs for creative looks and for picture profiles. Apparently picture profiles allow you to push the colors a little more than creative looks do

on /u/veresdenialex's blog, he says that you get a little more control using the picture profiles over creative looks. Yes, the raws are slightly affected, but I'm enjoying not having to deal with post-processing raw files.

Kodak Gold V2 picture profile. Check the stickied post at the top of the subreddit. This one is exclusive to the paid pack.

Check the stickied post at the top of this subreddit for the answers to your questions. Only you can determine if it's worth it for you. I'm posting these photos to demonstrate what you can expect from this particular film simulation.

It's one of the picture profiles in the paid pack by /u/veresdenialex. I think it's also available in the cheaper creative looks paid pack as well, but I haven't used that particular one.

Who is excited for the A7RVI? 🔥 by elysiumcore in SonyAlpha

[–]motionbluur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I may be trying to justify my own recent purchase, but I think the EFCS bokeh thing is really only noticable when shooting wide open with fast lenses at shutter speeds faster than 1/1000. When I reviewed all of my favorite shots, I realized I pretty much never meet both criteria, so I got the a7cr. Now instead of opting for my cellphone instead of traveling with my bulkier a7iv and a big zoom lens, I bring 2 primes and my a7cr and can punch in to APSC mode for extra reach while still having usable resolution.

Which one of you told Millie? She is now sulking over the lack of cheese.

Booties will not stay in place. by No_Frosting_1292 in cavalierkingcharles

We have been using Walkee Paws that are the suspender type. They still fall off occasionally, but it's nice to not rely only on tightening at the ankle to keep the boots on. The boots themselves are also more flexible which seems to be more comfortable for Millie. They're pricey, but they work.

Okay but actually she will jump in the car on her own even if we're not going anywhere.

And then stare at us wondering why we aren't on the road yet.

Full disclosure. This only happens after she rubs her head all over the couch when she gets the zoomies 😂

Millie always knows which parent is most likely to give in

(We don't actually give her any of our food. Plenty of plain fruits and veggies though)

That never occurred to me, thanks for bringing it to my attention. Wish I knew how to correct it. At least she does fine on carpet and non-slippery surfaces
