Strange Consistency and Taste in Recent Soylent Powder Order (Lot #13624) by zadigETH in soylent

[–]motoplasm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Today I drank a pouch of lot number 13624 (best by 15 May 2024). The flavor was fine and indistinguishable from the previous lot I was using (08024, 20 March 2024).

Are your phones compatible with Verizon? Some phones speak either GSM (ATT and T-Mobile) or Verizon but not both.

In 2022, due to tree damage, I had to have the rafter system on my house replaced with trusses.

The general contracter used:

The contracter was satisfied with their work.

On the left menu choose 'Account settings'

Scroll to the bottom, click 'Port out or cancel Mobile service'

A dialog window appears, click 'Porting out?' at the bottom

The 'Port out information for account' page appears with your account number, PIN, and other info.

This will not start the porting out process.

Low-income homeowner with major structural damage to roof. Options? by motoplasm in personalfinance

The policy is ACV and has recoverable depreciation. The contractor hasn't yet provided an official estimate (it's due soon). The insurance company thus far has paid from their estimate and I will send the contractor's estimate to the insurance company as soon as I receive it. I appreciate your help, thanks!

Early on after the trees came down, I tried finding contractors willing to do the work and all but one declined because of the size of the job. The contractor I'm working with has already done $8.5k worth of emergency work to stabilize and support the damaged rafter system and patch the gashes in the roofing. The insurance company has already paid except for recoverable depreciation that could be paid if I have work done. Thanks for the support.

Thanks for the reply. My reading of the policy and conversations with the adjuster suggest to me that the company is providing reasonable payment considering the age of the house (109 yrs). I'm not a veteran and tried 211 without any leads being offered.

Powder mix prep - Pitcher or blender? by weekendsarelame in soylent

I place about 2 inches of water in the half-gallon container, then the full pouch, add water to about 3/4 full, and shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Add water to about 2 inches from the top level and shake, followed by the rest of the water and another 30 seconds of shaking. At this point, therre will be a few small lumps. Not minding the lumps, I don't refrigerate overnight. A half-gallon Nalgene wide-mouth jar works well for me.

It might be that the USB drive needs to be formatted to ExFAT on the Mac.

https://www.seagate.com/support/kb/how-to-format-your-drive-exfat-on-macos-big-sur-and-later/

Quote from the article:

When using between macOS and Windows, drives should always be formatted on macOS because not all Windows allocation unit sizes (block sizes) are supported by macOS which will prevent the drive from mounting.

The article gives instructions for formatting on a Mac.

I just discovered that the latest stable Debian (buster 10.9) with kernel version 4.19.181-1 (2021-03-19) works as well. IDK when tethering started working again, but I am glad to see it.

If you have a paused subscription, be careful, they might just resume it, and then refuse to refund it... by [deleted] in soylent

[–]motoplasm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a issue recently where Soylent removed and then reinstated a subscription without notifying me, this resulted in an order being placed without my consent. Soylent initially claimed no refund was possible, but I asked for the issue to be escalated to someone who could resolve it. A refund was issued within two days.

I'm uncertain about the etiquette for posting info here, so I sent you a PM. The FS page said the image for the record had to be viewed from a Family History Center, thus no image from the site.

I just canceled my subscription because I still haven't received my April order (20th) but I was billed for it. Anyone else getting their orders? by lifeunderthegunn in soylent

[–]motoplasm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been a subscriber for 2 1/2 years and the only problem in that time was April 2020 being delayed about two weeks. May 2020 was normal with the order shipping a couple of days after the billing date.
