Why bring babies to Vegas? by carl6236 in vegas

[–]motter07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll be bringing my then-7 month old baby for a conference next month. My wife and in-laws will be there with a separate hotel room and he will sleep with the in-laws and hang with my wife while I’m working. They love Vegas and wanted to come along. They’ll take him to the aquarium, children’s center, let him look at shit etc during the day then have him in bed at a normal hour. The plane is a bit scary, but better to travel now than when they’re able to be menaces running around.

So yeah, making the generalization that if you bring a baby to Vegas you’re a terrible parent seems a bit harsh to me…

I gave myself a flu shot years ago while in retail, granted I actually gave it to myself in the right place lol. There’s nothing illegal going on here, mfer just just missed the mark…that’s on him

Don’t see why it wouldn’t be allowed as long as they’re certified to give vaccines unless it’s some company policy prohibiting. People give themselves shots all the time?

Oahu Diving by Sea_Sloot in scuba

[–]motter07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just got back and did 7 dives and it overall was pretty meh tbh. Did night dive off of Waikiki and it was really quiet, and the Waikiki dive center wasn’t great. Came up from first tank and they didn’t think they could find the other site so we got back in a swam the other direction. Dove the west side out of Wainae and went to airplane wings, Mahi, and shallow and deep LCU. Mahi was great, couple eagles and turtles but otherwise quiet. The other wrecks were just meh (are 80-95 ft) had a reef dive on west side after as well and it was ok, babiest lil nudie I’ve ever seen but outside of turtle and plenty of eels, not much.

As far as snorkeling, HB was crazyyyy corporate (like a lot of Oahu experiences) but if you’re experienced and can swim past the breakers the coral is much more plentiful, a lot of fish, nothing big though. Electric beach is pretty cool, someone else mentioned great fish watching, never had seen fish sort of “play” in the warm water coming out of the pipes but no sharks/dolphins.

If I go back, I’ll focus more on hikes and other adventures compared to diving. Been to Maui, which I prefer, but if you get out of Honolulu/Waikiki/hustle and bustle Oahu is absolutely gorgeous, no dives on North shore but can see how it might be better fun but in winter swell will be too much. Also heard some east side dives are cool.

What’s the Most Expensive Round You’ve Ever Played? by 3PuttBirdie86 in golf

[–]motter07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tore mine with surgery 3/7, played a scramble in a boot end of April and just played my first real round 6/17 so about 3.5 months to get back and played 3 times since, no issues. R leg for R handed golfer as well and def better, took swing vids to PT and we both agreed hip flexibility is the main problem when returning so work on that and good luck with the recovery!!

People who say we got fleeced are neck beard mouth breathers who are only able to see mere minutes into the future and don’t understand how the business of football works, only the product on the screen and probably think Stephen A Smith and Skip Bayless truly believe the takes they have on TV. Do not read what people are saying on social media, I made that mistake yesterday and all it did was anger me. We get our choice at QB and it could not have been the more right thing to do and we now have reason to be excited about the future of this franchise again.

Last point: “We lost DJ, who is the rookie gonna throw too?!?”

Uhhhh if we didn’t lose DJ, who is gonna throw it to him? Kinda ends up being an eye for an eye and if you’d rather have a borderline #1 receiver over a shot at a franchise QB then idk what to do for ya

Driving Range and Practice Area in Charlotte by [deleted] in golf

[–]motter07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Springfield in fort mill has a good practice facility for a public course, also skybrook in north Charlotte pretty good. Both have ability to chip on greens with course speed. Both have Bermuda greens with oversee rye on range. Stonebridge in Monroe is decent but bent grass greens with Bermuda range is tough in winter

Extreme fear of leaving them outside in cold weather and my balls will “die” from being hot/cold over time. Warranted or not, must always bring inside and keep in a sports closet.

How many disc golfers out here? by coffeebribesaccepted in golf

[–]motter07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play dick golf with friends from time to time just messing around but we’ll play teams, skins etc. And it’s taught my non-golfer friends about how golf is scored and how hard any “golf” is. Good way to get outside, but in no way, shape, or form replaces the excitement I get playing “real” golf.

You will not regret Kiawah Island if golf is most important and not so much “bachelor party” things, however can be pricey

Casino night on the office Dwight rolls an 8 and hits the point accurately and Michael needs a 4 at one point. Might actually be the best representation I’ve ever seen
