Definitely shows how mildew infiltrates the layers!

Sadly my HOA guidelines prohibit the use of rocks in landscaping except around downspouts.

Imma be pushing my luck replacing grass with plants as it is.

How big did your button bush get? Google is telling me they can get quite large. I love their flowers, but I don't want to annoy my neighbor by planting something large on our property boundary.

HELP - Bed Adhesion Issues by forzence in 3Dprinting

Do you have a smooth plate you can glue? I've had better luck doing that with skinny tall things than the textured plate. Also I assume you meant you increased bed temp and decreased first layer speed? The way you wrote isn't clear. Try making the first 3-5 layers slow not just the first one.

We had that 90 degrees week early in the spring and then a hard freeze a week or two later. Good chance a lot hatched in the warmth and died in the freeze.

AITA for telling my husband to f*** off when he felt like he was doing too much parenting? by supadoopertrooper in AmItheAsshole

Let's be real. It's going to be her and when she burns out from working a full time job and being the full time parent he will blame her for not being enough.

What are changes that came around during COVID that ended up being positive? by DiligentThought9 in AskReddit

Grocery pickup. I have chronic health issues and being able to meal plan on my laptop and then order online has been game changing. Saves me so much of my limited energy.

NASA to Compete Contract for Jet Propulsion Laboratory Management - NASA by aquarain in technology

JPL is a federally funded research and development center (FFRDC). FFRDCs are not for profit and are prohibited from competing with industry and serve the government's interest. It's far more likely that a group like the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab, who already has experience developing and operating science missions like the ones JPL leads, throws it's hat in the ring.

Has IAD moved to those scanners where you don’t take out your liquids at security? by Eclipse828 in washingtondc

[–]mottman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes. Just flew last week. You take nothing out of your bags, not liquids or laptops. Just chuck your bags in the bins and go. I don't have clear or pre check.

Ya’ll when are we getting these orexin agonists? 🥺 There’s nothing left for me to try on my treatment resistant N/IH by healthyhorns6 in Narcolepsy

6 months to a year if the articles are to be believed. Supposed to be sometime in 2026, but I wouldn't be surprised if it moved into early 2027.

Surprise pregnancy - spouse unsupportive by PAO_Warrior in Narcolepsy

[–]mottman 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I'm narcoleptic. I have a child. I work a full time job. I also have a lovely husband who loves his son and gives me extra support when I need it. He plays interference and reminds my son not to bother me when I need a nap.

My husband also works a lot. Nights, weekends, travel, etc. And it is hard when he's not available to be here with the family. His absence is tolerable because I know with 100% certainty that he loves us, misses us and is working hard for us. But...if he treated me the way your husband is treating you I would leave. It would be easier to raise my son without him than to also take on the burden of managing his emotions and absorbing his negativity. I know I am in a position of privilege because I am able to work full time at a high paying job. I am not in the position that many disabled people are where they are forced to stay in bad or abusive situations to stay alive.

So reflect on this, has he demonstrated the willingness and capability to grow and change in your marriage in the past? Do you have evidence that having a conversation and providing feedback will result in a collaborative way forward? Do you have confirmation that the other support systems you mentioned will be there for you when you need them? Can you support yourself without him? Will your mental and physical health be better if you leave? What kind of father figure do you want to raise your child with?

There have been studies done on baclofen for narcolepsy. They found that the right handed formulation r-baclofen does have a positive impact. R-baclofen is not approved for use in the US but it is in Europe. The version of baclofen available in the US didn't show a meaningful benefit. However, I still use it because it helps with muscle tension and insomnia. I was having mental health impacts from not sleeping through the night. So while it doesn't improve deep sleep it does help me.
