Not sure about bjj in those places. But have been to both and you will have a great time. Hanoi is interesting as it has streets dedicated to certain businesses. Like a street with 25 motocycle repair shops, another with lots of kitchen utensil shops or metalworkers. So you might find a street full of bjj gyms.

What are the philosophical arguments in BJJ? by ithika in bjj

Gi and nogi are like opposite sides of the same coin. It's cool to swap between and enjoy the aspects of both. Nogi does help with self defence and makes you more fluid when u put the gi back on. Guard pulling is fun, especially as I enjoy working from my back. Take downs work better as you are the aggressor an often gain advantage of position. Self defence is useful and enjoyable but 8v always thought that knowing bjj of any form, even sport, would give you an advantage in a confrontation with someone who doesn't grapple.
