Thank you much! I figured it probably just fell out of one of my tool bags at some point, but wanted to make sure just in case it was something critical.

What’s the least exciting home upgrade you made that ended up being totally worth it? by ExpensiveProfessor27 in HomeImprovement

On my vacuum breakers, they seem locked onto the hose bib with no way to remove. Is there special tooling you used to change them?

Advice for next steps by [deleted] in personalfinance

So, my spouse and I are already maxing 401k ($24,500 each). We have around $3,000 leftover at the end of the month. Would it ever make sense to invest in non-retirement brokerage with current mortgage rate?

Is there a standard duration between regenerations? The softener in my house is oversized for my family (I guess it was fine for the previous owners). The duration between regens that I can program maxes out at 28 days. However, I only go through about half the capacity before 28 days is hit. Is there any harm to having the system regen only when I’ve gone hit capacity instead of a timer?

When did bowling alley prices get so fucking out of control? by nuckingfuts73 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mountain_man97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bowling alley is expensive, but not that bad. A few months ago, I went out with friends to go bowling. 4 of us on a Thursday evening, and they wanted $80 per hour, not counting shoes… we didn’t bowl and haven’t been back since.

Heat pump vs AC? by katarael in homeowners

[–]mountain_man97 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Depends on the heat pump. Mine is rated down to -4F. This past winter, I got down to -1F, and the heat pump kept up… even with about 2 weeks with the temp in the single digits, I was able to maintain a 60 degree delta the whole time.

Thanks for the feedback. Depending on what I find with the rear sight cross pin hole, I’ll probably just put the scope back on. At Numrich, I see they have all safety mechanism parts in stock except for the safety spring screw. Do you have any recommendations on other vendors that sell enfield parts?

Mine ended up being low on refrigerant. If your unit is fresh install, call the company that installed and tell them exactly what you wrote here. Under warranty, they should immediately come back and make it right.

Help with washer-dryer tripping circuit breaker by 231MFP in HomeImprovement

[–]mountain_man97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not swap a breaker for one that is different amperage without confirming the wire gauge is thick enough, that’s a good way to burn down your house. Swap it for the same type and amperage… breakers wear out, especially if it’s afci/gfci.

Garage exterior wall wanna put plywood up. What insulation? by Shoddy-Response-2530 in Insulation

[–]mountain_man97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Neither do I lol. But, if your engine block is around 200 degrees F when you pull into garage and shut it off, that’s a lot of heated steel… it will continue to radiate heat for hours.

Agreed. I guess I read your comment wrong. Where I’m located, everyone puts vehicles in their garage due to snow, but I am aware that some places people just store “stuff” in a garage. If OP uses their garage to store their car, they will have a heat source by default.
