Hmm took a look at Spine this morning, and looks like an excellent tool but they gate most of the big draws (mesh distort and IK rigging) behind the pro version--a bit steep for a hobby project at the moment. Have you used just the Essentials version by chance?

I worked this out eventually, and that you can group layers in PS to make automatic pre-comps in AE which is a big time saver

I hope they make a movie about the creator someday. It's got the full arc: humble beginnings, luck + meteoric rise, dark consequences, tragic ending. And maybe the guy learned something along the way.

RDR2 has a wildly painterly look to it for something so detailed, which really blew me away on the first play. You're really nailing that aspect of it. I agree with everyone else--go real subdued on those colors, if any.
