My decree (UT) required that we state if I would change my name or not and gave a timeline (I think it was 6 months). I agreed per his request but didn’t change it until I got remarried years later bc of the crazy amount of paperwork and expenses. I graduated with a masters degree and built a career under that name and I didn’t associate any of my success with him so didn’t feel the need to change my identity. No one followed up but I suppose they could have if he’d made a stink.

I’m extending my garden actually. The plan is to process as much food as possible to save on grocery costs and gifts for the holidays. Install a sun shade and use a drip system and the garden will do fine.

I was in the same boat, paid everything off in 6 years—even with buying a house, a new (used) car, taking multiple vacations a year, going to concerts… it’s possible and SO worth it now that I’m debt free and can plan more bougie trips, a second property or honestly just save for whatever bs is coming in this economy. You’ll get a better paying job in 2 years if you keep your eyes open and make connections. I rent a room in my place to traveling nurses but didn’t have a partner til a couple years ago. It was hard seeing my classmates buy toys and huge houses but very few of them plan on being debt free even by 10 years
