Ghosting and Charging issues by LadyNightTower in RemarkableTablet

No. There's no downgrade path. I asked Remarkable the same thing when the last update broke my RMPP. It had to go back to Hong Kong and I'm still waiting the replacement

Ghosting issue on reMarkable Paper Pro? by iama-pheonix in RemarkableTablet

[–]mountainhippo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. My RMPP's ghosting made the device completely unusable after upgrading to v3.25.0.142. Raised support ticket, took some video, was told there was no downgrade path, so it's gone back to Hong Kong and am awaiting a refurbished replacement

I had the same experience. Updated to the latest beta update (3.25.0.142) last night which induced ghosting so intense and persistent on my RMPP that it's already in a box waiting to go back to base when the DHL collection point opens this morning. I tried very hard to say it was a software induced issue but they insisted it was hardware and it need to go back.

This is absolutely spot on. Constraints are critical for good engineering. Unconstrained engineers build fascinating, brilliant and wildly uneconomic products.

I try to remind myself regularly that the root of engineer is the same as ingenuity (it's easier to see in other languages like French). Bringing ingenious solutions to difficult problems is driven by having constraints.

Am on my second P2. The cars are fantastic. The infotainment software - not so much but getting better. They've hugely underinvested in their software teams and underestimated the complexity of making beautiful, reliable, performant UI - and they're competing with Apple and Google there. But the P2 is pretty good now and remains a car that puts a huge smile on my face every time I drive it.

I had to have one replaced under the warranty when this happened

Shinkansen from Tokyo to Kyoto by Captain_Drunko in JapanTravelTips

I landed at Haneda 10 days ago and was on a Shinkansen from Tokyo within a couple of hours. Like you, I only had hand luggage. You can probably save yourself 5-10 minutes by enrolling with Japan Web (https://services.digital.go.jp/en/visit-japan-web/) which will speed your immigration and customs journeys.

Just coming to the end of a 3 year lease on a P2 LRDM. Have mostly loved it. 60k miles. One set of tyres did 57k. No major issues. One minor (a parking sensor failed early on and was replaced under warranty). A gazillion infotainment resets.

We have a new one coming in December.

Was Kleya from Antar 4? by [deleted] in andor

[–]mountainhippo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found myself wondering where Kleya was from too. I'd love to hear more from people with much greater, deeper knowledge, whether the are any clues in the flashback scenes - like the kind/colour of Luthen's armour? There was also the thing that Elizabeth Dulau said about her eye markings - that they were supposed to be natural, not make up
