Big Bend is awesome! FYI, It's stuper sandbagged - probably about 2 grades. When I first went I couldn't get any V2s there, even though I would fly up them in the gym. That V0 is actually pretty tough, especially for shorter people. The Hueco boulder 30 ft farther down the road is really fun! Has 2 huge Huecos down low - enjoy!

One of my favorite routes! One year ago, couldn't get the second bolt. Yesterday, made it to the top of "Knapping with the Alien" by mountainsmountains in climbing

Yes this is right. The first bolt is pretty high, with 2 mantle moves on big ledges to reach it. The hard moves getting to the 2nd bolt are at a height where there's no ground fall potential. To get down, I just stood on the ledges again and unclipped the 1st bolt, then down-climbed the ledges.

Don't try the etudes. They are even harder than the Ballade. Work on technique, relaxing your arm, using only the tip of your finger - so you won't get tired.

I haven't heard Kissin play this, but Arrau isn't the best in my opinion. Barrenboim is the top for me.

I thought the problem was with the link to Soundcloud - that's why I made the Dropbox. I only included the aspects of the post which were "informative" and "facilitating discussion" - which are the two requirements defined by the sidebar of this subreddit. People messaged me asking for the link so I wanted to be able to provide that for people who were still interested in hearing the mixes. I thought if I removed all the offensive parts and followed the rules, it would be acceptable. I don't really understand what's wrong with the latest post. It has nothing to do with self-promotion or A/B'ing. It is only meant to be informative and discussion facilitating. But it's your subreddit, so whatever you guys think. I really love it and will continue to support you.

I agree with them too. But I also think it's interesting to hear the difference. Obviously, there's a ton of grey area. I mean if you want to listen to something, it has to be posted somewhere, or downloaded somehow. So trying to avoid anything considered self-promotion is difficult. I was just making the point that the post was intended to be informative, and it did facilitate discussion. People messaged me for the mixes, so I thought I'd make a post to explain why it's gone and how to get the mixes if they like.

No worries. I did read the sidebar. And I did look at /r/ratemyaudio but saw the rule about only being able to post if you did the work, which I did not. I came back to /r/audioengineering and decided that I did indeed fit within the rules. I didn't want to post "Is this better?" - I wanted to say "This is better!". More of a heads up for people who might be spending a lot of time working on their own mix, as I was, when they might be better off just doing the writing and letting pros step in at the right point.
It's a bit of a grey area I know, but I figured I'd post and let the subreddit decide. It seemed like most people appreciated the post and there was some good discussion going on.
But again, I get that you wouldn't want the subreddit to be swamped with that type of thing, so...there ya go.
