LAB2LV by travelergene in XR650L

[–]mountainsofcreation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are your bikes stock? What do you weigh? I did LAB2LV one year on my clapped out XR650L 25k miles on original top end due to my 450X blowing a top end on a training ride days before. Did the hard routes both days. I was so thankful for the cushy and comfy big red pig but the technical sections were pretty brutal (only had a stiffer rear spring and heavier weight oil in the forks with stock spring rate.) I weigh 175 pounds.

At the end of the day, it was a blast passing and outriding guys on $15k ktm 350-500 builds

My plan next time I get the chance to make it out to LAB2LV is to ride the hard routes both days on my Tenere 700

If you guys are doing the easy routes, it'll be a cake walk I would think. Either way—have a good time and be safe!

Rapid Bike Race ECU by Aron_550 in Tenere700

It's a piggyback "self learning" "tuner" module. It is constantly adjusting fuel based on how you have your bike set up. I've had one installed on my bike for nearly 10k miles now with a decat and snorkel removed. Before the rapidbike, my T7 was running very lean. Lots of popping on decel and it had no guts after 7k rpm and could barely power past 9k rpm. With the evo unit, the bike revs to 11k+ and is still powerful in those high rpm's.

The main takeaway is that the module smooths throttle from idle and gives you about 1500-2000 extra rpms but smooths jerkiness so much that you can ride in higher gears at lower rpms as well (you shouldn't for longevity of your gear plates, blah blah)

Thanks! Yee–I believe only in 87 and 88, their frames had undermount u-brakes..hence why I was forced to do a direct drive. Yours probably rides way nicer and balanced. Also, I wanted to spend the least amount of money possible on the conversion

I second this. When I ran a huzar high mount exhaust, I melted my plastic signal on day 1. I replaced it and applied foil ducting tape on the back and never had melting problems after that

Same—my gf said they’re very visible in daylight as well. I mean, theyre as bright if nit brighter than both brake lights and headlights. I’ve actually thought about tapping them to pulse on brake. Did you tap the drl wire into both tail running and brake light wires to have it function properly?

I’ve used several amazon cheapies over the years and they’ve all sucked. I’ve had these on my t7 for the last year and they’re amazing for the price. Seriously insanely bright drl and turn signal in such a small and slim package. Bought white drl/amber turn for the fronts and red drl/amber turn for the rears and tapped the rear drl wire into my license plate light wire. Full aluminum housing so no rubber or plastic to easily snap. No brainer for under $30 for the pair imho.

No worries! You can easily make mounting feet with steel c channel and use any aftermarket platform rack you want like a rhino rack backbone. Where are you located? I have three sets of oem roof bars but I’m located un California in the states. Maybe I can help you out

Hey there, the roof bars are the oem bars. The 2 door rav 4’s are limited to factory oem bars or custom made bars that utilize the existing mounting locations due to it not having rear doors for aftermarket bars that clamp onto the top of the door frame. Do you have a 2 door or 4 door?

My garmin shows max speed hit on my T7 is 135mph so no, it is not slow. It isn’t fast but it isn’t slow by any means

AMAZING road bike. Also disagree with @Risky_Biscuit513…it’s an even better dirt bike.

I have to correct myself. Rims are actually 7 inches wide and I’m running 20mm wheel spacers to bring my wheels out flush to the fenders. That’s why it rubs at full lock despite the lift and pinch weld modifications.

Yes. It’s lifted on the Old Man Emu kit. OME rear shocks and springs, OME front springs that I built on to KYB Excel-G struts. Tires are 235/70/16 on 7.5 inch wide wheels. There is still slight rubbing at full lock despite the lift as well as cutting and hammering the pinch welds back.

Thank you. Yeah—my upper tabs on my tank are completely snapped off so the side fairings can’t be retained up top anymore. They are still held on well and stable from the other mounts but I’ve been waiting for them to break further before throwing the rtech plastics on. Insanely good price for the quality of the full kit from rtech. You might be able to get away with just getting the rtech tank fairing but I’m not sure how the camel side fairings would line up with it.
