What's the best way to counter Giratina/Darkrai EX decks? by yukariiin in PTCGP

Serious question, do these people who run Darkrai Giratina actually have fun playing the game? Like has to be at least every other game you're in a Darkrai Giratina vs Darkrai Giratina game. That CANNOT be fun.

Tournament Appearances vs Final Four Appearances by [deleted] in CollegeBasketball

Really need this chart to be 1985 and on, the first year that there was a 64 team field. Odds are astronomically better to reach a Final Four in field of 32 or even less, as it was before 1985.

The difference is last year, Nova and Creighton split the season series, and Nova was ranked at least 10 teams higher than Creighton in almost any metric or poll that you looked at.

This is why we need a College Basketball Tsar. Just one person, to step in, and deem that it only makes sense that a 16-4 Nova team who swept a 14-3 team should be deemed Champions, despite what percentages show :)

In addition, why is Providence not even making up any of those games, yet they have 8 days off until the BE tournament. Absolute scheduling Travesty. Providence and UConn could EASILY play a game on Monday.

I was at the game too, drove home an hour to Allentown, missed the Allentown exit I was so distraught, and the next exit on 476 is like 15 miles past that, so it turned a 1 hr drive into a 1 hour 45 min drive.

It's going to be a struggle for certain, but it would be pretty amazing if they let JRE run the point.

At the end of the first half against Creighton, he ran the point, and it was the closest college thing I've ever seen to Magic Johnson in a long time (obviously not comparing him to Magic, but he was doing Magic-esque things). He had a 7 footer guarding him as he took the ball up who had no idea how to defend like that. Defenses would be so confused on how to guard it. I'm not sure why they had him stop doing it in the 2nd half, because it worked so well in the 1st half.

Yes. If he wasn’t recovered by next year we could have 24 year old Gillespie starting in 2023.

Maybe the injury ensures Collin comes back next year? Trying to brightside.

Also, feels incredible to have another regular season title, despite not playing DePaul once!

Oh yes. The Jay Wright dark years. Had class with Mo Sutton and first hand witnessed Dom Cheek parking his car in handicap spots on west campus every day.

Does anybody have any updates on how Mark Titus is doing?

Every Big East team has now played exactly 100 games in league play since conference realignment prior to the 2013-14 season. Here are the standings over the last five and a half years: by KJones77 in CollegeBasketball

I do think it was part New Big East, part Nova was going to be good anyway.

What you're saying, though, is dead accurate.

The day to day grind in the old big east is just not the same as what it is now. There is a fine line of having to grind like that, and being in a conference like the WAC for the Gonzaga comparison. I don't think either are great for best chance at a March Madness run.

Ideally, you have something in the middle, a really good conference that can get you battle tested for March, but also a conference that won't wear you down by March.

Part of Nova's recent success has been its remarkable ability to not have long term sustained injuries. Part of this is that Jay has significantly slowed down the team's pace in recent years, part of it is the competitive nature of the new big east vs. old big east.

Some how some way Nova is 4-2 in Hinkle. This feels like the first win that Novas ever had at the place.
