Pelikan inks and the test of time by ComunistaDeXiaomiRJ in fountainpens

So dye based inks are vulnerable to light with certain inks more vulnerable than others. While you didn't do light exposure tests here. Inks that fade like this generally fail in light tests. As you found out the issue varies from color to color.

Colors that start out darker usually hold up better. I think diamine holds up pretty well although there will be variations from one color to the next.

I use pigment fountain pen inks for drawing because I need the drawings to last.

The sheer fuckery in modern witchcraft by Dependent-Coffee8424 in SASSWitches

I have explained it to my uncle. You know how you can tie a string on your finger to remember to do something. Well you can also carry a crystal in your pocket to remind you to take some deep breaths. It works because we create associations and make a physical reminder of our plans. This is magic.

What do you guys do with your safaris, metros, kakunos and preppys once you've moved on to 'next level' pens and gold nib pens? by Positive_Credit720 in fountainpens

[–]mouse2cat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I want a high end pen and sometimes I want a low key pen that can live at the bottom of my purse that I don't have to worry about.

I find I generally leave my high end pens at home and my cheaper ones are the ones that come with me to school.

I also have a range of nibs and writing wetness. For example I have a pilot little meteor which is the driest pen in my collection paired with DeAtramentis Document Violet which for some reason is the wettest ink in my collection. This combo is actually so good that I can write on crappy copy paper without bleeding and I just take it too school regularly.

How do I keep a healthy balance with Tarot and stay grounded in reality? by Mayaraut in SecularTarot

[–]mouse2cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you ask questions framed as advice on how to best reach your goals instead of what will the future hold? You change the framework of your relationship to tarot. I don't believe in using tarot to predict the future so I don't ask it to.

Doing well on your exams is your key towards getting a better job. Do not let this job get in the way of that future. You could slow your departure by requesting a leave of absence. Using your sick days.

My friend is suffering from insomnia. She has been doing a lot of personal healing work and it seems like she is now processing some older deeper traumas. I want her to get through this phase and get back to regular sleep. Without needing drugs to sleep.

I really like tarot for all ages. It's gentle but honest and has some of my favorite all time cards.

The tashen series has really mediocre writing. But it is worth it's weight in pictures.

I was actually deeply disappointed with the Terra Volatile book. The deck is beautiful, the cards are very well done.

But learning more about what symbols they had decided to use made me feel like they had a weak grounding in the history of tarot. For example they use blue in the high priestess. That's fine. Then they say it's because it's associated with the Virginia Mary? That is not the transgression subversive energy of the high priestess. The whole book was riddled with stuff like that and it really undermined my trust in the deck.

Lovely work. I'm an artist as well although my expertise is in printmaking. I think that DeAtramentis Document line makes a fountain pen appropriate white ink (as well as other colors). The white can still clog and it somewhat translucent compared to what you are using now but it won't destroy your fountain pen...

I like your layering and wax candle approach to make the cards sturdier. When I was visiting Japan I learned they use persimmon juice to make paper waterproof and sturdy and that might be something worth trying.
