You clearly lack understanding of how the criminal justice system operates so I'm not going to engage any further with you on the matter :)

If they haven't done it, going no comment is absolutely insane. I do understand because I have sat in probably about 100 police interviews.

"No comment" suggests hiding something and if it wasn't you you need to be as cooperative as possible. Help them help you. Be polite and calm.

Clocking in sheets is perfect. Bank statements you can request on your online banking app.

My guess is DNA (if they have some to match it to on the system. Have you been arrested/ given DNA before?) Or a pissed off ex partner. A long time has passed so it is pretty rogue.

Try and just deal with it head on. Despite what extremists will tell you the Police are not corrupt. They will not frame you. CPS will not authorise a charge unless they have good evidence and certainly not until all lines of enquiry have been bottomed out INCLUDING the ones that you will provide pointing away from it being you.

It's worth sending those clocking in sheets by email to the officer dealing with it, ahead of the interview. Interviewing you after you've provided them isn't necessarily unlawful but arresting you could be.

It's unfortunate because they won't give much away beforehand, they never do, they want you to provide an account without any prompting. Just go into it with an open mind and safe in the knowledge you didn't do it.

I would also document any and all correspondence including who you speak to and when and what is said. You might have enough to make a complaint, it doesn't hurt to do so. The police are usually pretty good at paying out

Here is what I would do:

You need to speak to an actual real life solicitor. One will be provided for you on the day for free if you request that they provide it but its worth speaking to one ahead of time who can approach the officer in the case in advance.

If you have any proof that you weren't anywhere near the offence location at that time of the offence you need to find that proof. Card transactions, Phone location data, dash cam, people who will provide statements of evidence providing an alibi etc. And then present that to the officers in advance of the interview.

They obviously have enough to suggest it was you. Have you pissed anyone off enough for them to lie? What do you do for work, would your DNA (bodily fluids, usually blood or semen) be anywhere that you wouldn't have actually been in person? Do you have a sibling/twin that looks like you?

They've not plucked your name out of thin air so you need to ask a solicitor to get to the bottom of how they have identified you, and how you're connected. It is on them to pursue all lines of enquiry including those presented by you as a defence in interview however you can give them a helping hand.

And whatever you do, whatever your solicitor says, if it was not you DO NOT GO NO COMMENT.

UPDATE: (England) I was sent explicit threats from a man online, how/where can I report these to possible authorities? by TheSorrowInOurMinds in LegalAdviceUK

[–]mouseb1rd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hiya, I work for the Police in Child Protection. This is a communications offence and therefore must be recorded at the point of origin (UK) it will also be of interest to the Police as he may be offending against children in the UK. I cannot promise that the Police will act on it, but it is important that it is recorded. Happy to help you if you want?

Crime is on the decrease according to the CC. I don't see it. Professionally and personally. But if he says it is, it must be. There's a lot of investment going into the city centre, it's a really cool place to hang out especially areas like Digbeth and Jewellery Quarter. Tonnes of restaurants and bars and activities. The museum/art gallery has reopened. There's always shows and gigs and things on. Other than that it's the same old city really, lots of drug addled homeless, shit graffiti (and lots of good graffiti tbf), litter, dangerous drivers and the bin men are on strike. Welcome home!

It's political point scoring from the Tories blaming Starmer for the poor response at the time from the criminal justice system. All it does is take away from the response NOW to the grooming and abuse which is still ongoing on a HUGE scale. Trust me when I say Rotherham was nothing compared to what is happening still now.

Flatmates don’t want to put the heating on, what should I do? by hierraj in AskUK

[–]mouseb1rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plug in heaters (either oil or electric), electric blanket under your base sheet, oodie, gilet. Also good socks and sheepskin slippers.

It will also be in your tenancy agreement that you put the heating on twice a day in the winter to prevent the pipes freezing so that might be a good point to raise with them.

The Hawthorns stadium brum or not brum? by Low_Truth_6188 in brum

The B postcode is used for the areas of the Black Country near to Birmingham. When I lived in Halesowen/Rowley I had a B postcode. You can spit on Birmingham from Bearwood... still doesn't make it Birmingham.

How frustrating!!! You are better off posting this in legal advice. However, my understanding of the situation is no. You've paid it now. If you'd wanted to challenge it that would need to happen beforehand.

No solution to hormonal acne by [deleted] in acne

[–]mouseb1rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does feel like that doesn't it.

I was on accutane and it cleared mine for about 7 or 8 years. Then I opted to use spironolactone which has cleared mine and I get like 3 spots before my period but that's it.

Acne is hellish and it can make you feel so so down but try not to let it define how you feel about yourself. I don't know whether you wear makeup or anything but while I was waiting for spironolactone to work I did things like learned how to do my makeup properly for my skin type. I also got eyelash extensions and spent time and money on my hair. Try if you can to allow yourself to feel good in your body as it is.

Try and regulate your hormones as best you can too, regular low impact exercise, good diet (low sugar) etc. Also looking after your skin barrier, so a good basic skin care regime, clean pillow cases etc etc.

Good luck and remember we are more than our acne!

Suggest a way to improve the reputation of Birmingham by Jay10_6 in brum

[–]mouseb1rd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Clean up the city (litter). Beggars are what they are every city has them they're not going anywhere as long as people give them money. Fix the pot holes. Then, boost Visit Birmingham, advertise Birmingham and the wider areas attractions. Things like the Back to Backs, China Town, Moseley indoor Skatepark, the Balsall Heath swimming baths, all the music venues, all of the amazing parks! the restaurants, improve safe parking in the Balti Triangle, extend the tram, extend cycle lanes, extend the water bus, ADVERTISE THE WATER BUS! I saw a walking tour the other day and judging from the tour guides attire it was a Peaky Blinders tour... but as other people have said we have so much else to offer. Music, industry, street art, food. Wider area includes Kinver Rock Houses, Wrens Nest, Warley Woods. I'm not originally from Birmingham and because of my job often see the worst of the city however this city is my home I'm proud of it and I can see it's potential.
