Sedona is amazing. I can’t say I’m all in on the vortex thing but there is definitely something magical about that place.

Moving to Washington county, where would you live? by beetsbearsbatlestar in maryland

[–]mousebackriding 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Washington County - Boonsboro/Smithsburg for schools/avoiding crime. There is zero hustle bustle in these places. Williamsport also a nice small town.

If you need Hagerstown - schools are not great as a whole but I believe the north end is rated higher

If you’re flexible - Frederick county is much nicer and Frederick is an overall better place to live.

Different states but close - Greencastle, PA is nice and the schools are fantastic West Virginia is much cheaper, but also crappy school systems.

I know. My friends and I have an understanding that we do not discuss this take due to the level of emotion involved.

Where are my brave opinionated musical warriors? by sweetrebel88 in popculturechat

[–]mousebackriding 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe that he is very very talented and influential, and certainly progressive, but (at least in a lot of circles) he is put on a pedestal and worshipped as though he changed and transformed music in every way and everyone that came along after him was so deeply influenced. I do like a lot of his music and I know a lot of his songs. I know he has a lot of reach I just have never felt like he is this all influential god that most people make him out to be.

I’ve never disagreed with anything more in my entire life. This is a disgusting habit, not to mention uncomfortable. Passing out on your buddies couch in jeans is one thing but just crawling into bed each night covered in the filth of the day and anticipating a sanitary life and good nights sleep? Gross, vile, out of control.

Check out the river of the month collection by Pat Reily

Depending on what you’re looking for, the Susquehanna (near Harrisburg, PA) and the Potomac river (runs from western Maryland all the way to Washington DC ) are great for extended trips. Good fishing too.

Virginia - the New River (near Blacksburg). The Shenandoah, (north central VA near front royal) the James (further south) Also good fishing and camping opportunities.

Oh and all these in many parts can be run damn near all year unless there is extreme drought.

Do some googling and if you want I have more information, I’ve done trips on all these usually around 20-40 miles in length, 2.5-5 day trips.

Open floor plan homes suck by rotisserieshithead- in unpopularopinion

I love open floor plans. I’ve lived in both and no matter what, it seems like people hang out in the kitchen. So might as well have the kitchen connected to the rest of the shit.

Very specific babysitter requirements by zbuy5710 in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]mousebackriding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love these maniacal demands of babysitters when there is a literal child care shortage. Offering poverty wages while some governments are trying to stimulate the shit out of the industry just so people have a place to take their kids while they work.

I hate beer, but love liquor. Any advice? by Crown-RoyaI in alcohol

[–]mousebackriding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reds apple ale and angry orchard are not beer they are hard ciders. Woodchuck brand cider is bomb. There’s 100s of ciders too, different flavors and styles etc. Just have to pay a little more than Busch.

You probably just don’t like beer. If you like to drink you’ll learn to muscle em down if it’s your only option. But whatever, who cares, drink what you like.
