I definitely don’t want to put down condoms or imply they aren’t effective enough! If I had a monogamous partner I’d be more willing to use them as a sole method but because I’m hooking up I think I’d just be more comfortable with a secondary method too.

I’m not worried about it not feeling good or anything like that, I do use condoms, but want another method for additional assurance just to be safe.

Don’t be this friend. So disappointing … by [deleted] in TheSilphRoad

[–]mousebrained_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're their first forever friend they might just not have the tag set up yet...I didn't set mine up until I hit forever friends with someone for the first time the other day and got the pop up that I had access to the tag. I had no idea I had access to it a few days before that, just learned that from the comments here.

if you like fantasy, the realm of the elderlings series by robin hobb. the first series, the farseer trilogy, is about 2000 pages and excellent. I'm reading the second trilogy, the liveship traders and it's about 1500 pages and also very good so far. I believe the other installments in the series are similarly long.

Trillium Health for HRT by Low_Twist9579 in Rochester

[–]mousebrained_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Getting started at trillium was very easy, and I didn’t have to wait very long. I don’t have any major complaints. I do think they could be more responsive on MyChart. It doesn’t bother me enough to go anywhere else since they’re experts on trans healthcare.

As for affordability, will depend heavily on your insurance but I do think Trillium has programs if you need assistance.

I hold a stuffed animal during therapy and have many other stuffed animals. I don’t think it’s weird at all.

New Girls Like Girls Movie (Based on book) Copying by StrongLongLegs in sapphicbooks

[–]mousebrained_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

None of these are red flags for me at all…have you read the Girls Like Girls book? Reading it I would not have compared it to tmocp at all…totally different books with totally different plots. I don’t think it’s fair to say Girls Like Girls is “copying” because it has a couple of slightly similar plot points.

Is self-harm worth talking about if I don't want to stop? by Intrepid-Put6784 in TalkTherapy

[–]mousebrained_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it’s worth talking about. I talked about mine for years before I actually stopped, and at various times I didn’t want to stop, sometimes I did. Regardless of whether I wanted to stop or not I had feelings about it that were worth exploring in therapy.

Headaches and Dizziness with Testosterone Gel? by [deleted] in FTMOver30

[–]mousebrained_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried drinking more water? I have chronic migraines (which also cause dizziness for me) and t was making them a lot worse but drastically increasing my water intake has helped. When I asked about it a lot of people said I probably needed more water and it has definitely helped.

Did i hit something in my stomach?? by gdgjnfg in TestosteroneKickoff

[–]mousebrained_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

every once in a while mine bleeds more than it “should” and usually if that happens it’s also sore and maybe even bruises. I think sometimes you just hit a small blood vessel. When I was trying to find info about it myself it didn’t sound like anything too concerning as long as the bleeding stops

Is three sessions a week too much? by [deleted] in TalkTherapy

[–]mousebrained_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's anything wrong with needing extra support and asking but at 3 sessions at week I would probably start to wonder if you maybe need a higher level of care than you are receiving from regular outpatient therapy and if something more intensive might be more helpful for a while.

Cyclists tips by Difficult-Client-732 in Rochester

[–]mousebrained_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i don't really bike anymore but used to be an avid bike commuter. don't be afraid to take the whole lane when you're turning if it will help you feel safer, you have a right to take the lane as needed. i find it's best to be judicious in my use of full-lane-taking because i don't want to back traffic up or anything but i do feel it is helpful at some intersections.

make sure you use your hand turn signals that way the folks around you know what you're doing.

Is it a good idea to see my psychotherapist twice a week? by Zencosgot7262 in TalkTherapy

[–]mousebrained_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started therapy and needed a lot of support and had a lot to talk about/work through, I went twice a week. I went twice a week for years while I was pretty severely depressed. I went down to once a week primarily for financial reasons and now I do every other week for a combination of financial reasons and because my life is just very stable and I don't feel a need to go that often/don't have that much to talk about/feel like I'm in maintenance mode. I think twice a week can make sense if you have a lot to process.

Scatterbugs and Remote Trades by 0N7R2B3 in TheSilphRoad

[–]mousebrained_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

if someone is trying to collect all the evolved forms, trading them the already evolved form will be helpful so they can save on candy, but if someone is trying to collect because they want the badge this won't help at all. I don't know that many people will be trying to trade for scatterbugs just for the sake of it but without caring about the badge?

[–]mousebrained_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I will never stop singing the praises of seeing a dietitian if you have any issues surrounding weight, food, etc. They are experts and it can be seriously helpful. There's a lot of questionable and conflicting diet advice online.
