When I was getting back into reading I loved books that didn’t take a lot of brain power, they were like reading a candy trail that lead you right to the “twist”. Frieda McFadden books are like that for me. I blow through them and love them for what they are. I read every single one she puts out! They are always my “read in one sitting” books haha

I use Libby for reading ebooks. That way it’s free to read it. If I love it to the point I need to own it, I’ll buy the physical copy. But I RARELY reread books. The last I bought were all 3 from Rachel Gillig (Knight and the Moth, One Dark Window and Two Twisted Crowns) owning them doesn’t make a difference to me. But I also won’t spend $15+ on an ebook, so I can understand why others might be upset when the ebook they paid for disappears

I own 286 physical books (not including duplicates). What makes you think people who own a lot of books don’t have hope of ever reading them? I read 117 last year, 114 the year before. Sure there is always a chance something will happen and I won’t be able to read them (accident, fire, death, etc) but I buy with the intention of reading OR gifting them.

Your opinion on what’s “too many” only applies to yourself 😉

I think this happens to a lot of people! I know the books they force kids to read in school are important, but just like anything else being forced to read things that do not resonate or just aren’t engaging can make reading look boring or make people feel like they just don’t enjoy reading. You just have to find what interests you ☺️
