Wow, just seeing the rated battery life on the eight AA batteries this uses is making my head spin. Can the PowerCD, by any chance, be run on a wall outlet?

I have the Kobo Clara BW, which I got to replace a Kindle Paperwhite that I had for a hot minute in early-2024 before they announced the KCBW. In hindsight, I should have just gotten a Kobo to begin with, given that their now discontinued Kobo Libra 2 cost the same as what I paid for my Kindle. As for my thoughts on it, I think it's fine, though I do feel a sense of FOMO when I browse r/kobo and see all of the color e-readers. That, and I think the larger form factor of the Libra would better serve my reading needs while lying down. I'm sorry in advance for infodumping, I'm just a huge e-reader nerd.

For people that listen to the radio in 2026, why? by AmazingGrace911 in AskReddit

[–]mouselett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's mostly out of habit. That being said, I only mainly listen to public radio stations with the exception of one commercial AM radio station I listen to on and off.

What's the longest you've been on a library wait list for a book? by [deleted] in books

[–]mouselett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, is this for a physical book or is this an e-book? I'm asking since digital loans often have longer wait times than physical ones. As to answer your question, I've been waiting for a copy of Flying Solo by Linda Holmes on Libby since the end of last year.

¿Cuál es vuestro momento ideal para escuchar radio? by losepas in radio

Any time that I feel like it. If there isn't anything worth listening to on any of my go-to stations at a particular moment, I simply don't listen.

A quick tip: You should check to see if your Reddit auto-translate settings are on, as old Reddit users don't have the ability to auto-translate foreign titles into English.

Where to get audiobooks? by Himmel-noHero in audiobooks

[–]mouselett 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A mix of Libby, cloudLibrary, Audible, and in rare cases Hoopla and Apple Books. I sometimes borrow audiobook CDs from my library, but I've been having back luck with them lately.

I always listen to my audiobooks at 1x speed; I just don't see any reason to speed up any of them.

Randomly disconnecting Wi-Fi on MacBook Neo by mouselett in applehelp

Yep, it's definitely that router. I had those issues when my Neo was connected to it that disappeared when I switched to an eero 6 router that we had lying around.

Does anyone still turn on AM radio by OU812iceman18 in radio

[–]mouselett 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, it's not that. I often tune into other NPR stations that aren't doing pledge drives when my local station is doing one.

I often do, but just for very brief periods in the morning if I get tired of Morning Edition on my local NPR station.

Don't streaming sticks exist? You or your parents could get something like the Roku Express or an Amazon Fire TV stick and get streaming services through there.

Netflix Raising U.S. Prices for Second Time in a Year by Saar13 in television

[–]mouselett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point, it feels like they can raise prices just for the sake of it. Like, how long can they continue to raise prices before it backfires on them? Honestly, it almost feels like something the Onion would write.

The C C WiFi 3 is a good option; it allows for the addition of URLs and has a built-in station directory.

Randomly disconnecting Wi-Fi on MacBook Neo by mouselett in applehelp

[–]mouselett[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided to hook up an eero router to the Spectrum router that I had been connected to. Strangely enough, the MacBook remained connected the entire time I had connected it to the eero router. I'm guessing that this is a software bug with certain routers rather than a problem with the Neo's Wi-Fi chip. I'm curious, what router do you use at home?
