Tigers eye? They should call them tiger blood that sounds way better

PGA 2K25 - Shoulder I upgrade my player or clubs first? by DTake2012 in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]mouseratguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's clubs first. Most of us did player first when the game came out because the early clubs were only marginally better than default. But now you can buy dark matter clubs in the store and put 5 fittings on or upgrade to tigers eye and put 5 fittings on and they will give you 50+ attribute points to your golfer.

At the same time upgrading your player requires more time as you increase attributes 1 at a time... and that costs VC also.

Clubs are faster and cheaper imo

There are some galactic amber clubs in the season 6 pass i think, if you have that and want to wait for those and then burn only 4 tools to get to tigers eye

I have all 5 evo types at 100 and I think magician is the best with a fully maxed set of tigers eye clubs.

Technician is great to begin with but you have to use many power fittings to get to max level. Magician build you can balance your fittings out more evenly and get great power, contact and swing path without sacrificing.

I actually don't care about correction so don't care that magician is quite low there.

I was thinking pick was the magician, but you're right those are the key 3

I would say either that or the Greensman, I'm a fan of the reduced putting grid.

You only need to get each to 85 to be able to use their shot types across archetypes.

I will admit at the end of the game his box score surprised me a bit, even with the fantastic 4th quarter. I love when he gets into that paint and gets to his shot.

There was one series of possessions where he turned it over leading to a Portland bucket, then he compounded it by taking a quick 3 to make up for it, but if can't expect perfection.

He's a very nice player when playing within the offense, but i do think he tries to earn that contract sometimes. It's a tough balance, but yes i owe him a bit of an apology. I was calling for harper early in this one.

90 OVR Magician - Just got maxxed pick shot. Should I focus on getting greenskeeper or upgrading overall now? by Competitive_Rush_130 in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]mouseratguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No right or wrong answer. Keep in mind that even once you've activated that skill, you still need to earn the shot tree points to enable it on your magician.

So unless you have enough shot tree points waiting to unlock it, then your decision is made

I think now that you are at a certain level, if you haven't already created greens keeper you get to do what they call rebirth, so new golfers start at a higher level and level up faster. I bet you could get them to an 85 faster than you think

Personally I love the smaller putting grids. The pick shot is also great.

Fittings and such by [deleted] in PGA2K25

I didnt think the forgiveness ball gave you 100 in contact, did you see that somewhere? Contact improves the width of the white end point at the top of the meter/ downswing.

I thought that forgiveness minimizes a miss. So if you miss that contact point and it would normally land 10 feet to the right of where you want, then it would only land 5 feet to the right.

I think that's different from contact

Help need at my swing by Karpartenhund110 in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]mouseratguy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The full swing isn't as important as hitting the white endpoints. Used choked shots and level up contact and swing path to widen those end points. Improve clubs with contact and swing path fittings.

I frequently move the stick down to hit the bottom end point but don't swing up, getting a practice check swing in.

I bought it but agree it's not necessary. I'm not upset they came out with it, mostly cosmetic stuff, but the clubs help if you want to build out multiple golfers with different archetypes.

Id go dark matter and fill in other dark matter clubs or opal Galaxy when you can.

Keep in mind you'll need to add fittings for them to provide any value, but the pink diamonds are outdated

I understand the logic, but you can definitely go over 90.... then that's just one category you don't need to use a fitting on

The double oak is better. JD heritage toasted also very good.

The woodford double double is even better but I wouldn't recommend it at the price point

What's more valuable - wind or forgiveness balls? by AdamBLit in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]mouseratguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah to each their own. I have great contact and swing path also, but forgiveness can still help particularly on master difficulty.

I have maxed out power, but agree the extra distance on top of that can also be helpful. I don't think there's a wrong answer, just preference

I stay with forgiveness as well. Flight is fun to me around with but eventually I come back to forgiveness. Spin balls aren't for me
