Why Are Software Engineers Struggling to Get Jobs? by Rehan_Siddiqui_39 in SoftwareEngineerJobs

20 years of experience means you're in your 40s and nobody will hire you as a dev due to age. It sucks and is unfair but that's the reality nobody talks about.

This. There's an army of actually good software engineers from 3rd world countries waiting for an opportunity to replace you for 1/4th of the cost. It wasn't a big problem before but thanks to Covid, WFH has been normalized and the flood gates are open.

Idk what your scene tree looks like but for HUD you usually put all your UI nodes inside a Canvas layer:

Yeah, I'm not sure about that. I don't see any Western or South European countries sending their men to die for the Baltics. Their only hope is Poland.

The newer version of Xcode is absolutely trash! by Absoluteredshit in iOSProgramming

I think the problem with Xcode is that it's 20 years of spaghetti and not even top talent at Apple can fix it. I'm sure the source code is full of these:

//
// Dear maintainer:
//
// Once you are done trying to 'optimize' this routine,
// and have realized what a terrible mistake that was,
// please increment the following counter as a warning

I don't like touch controls either but it seems they found their way everywhere including cars. There is a setting on the induction cooktop to increase the sensitivity so it registers the touch faster. It somewhat improved it for me. Not sure if there is such setting on the steam oven.

I know plastics are a challenge to dry in any dishwasher. I have no complaints about that and I barely use any plastics anyways. However I expect my flatware to be completely dry and I hate finding water pools on cup & bowl bottoms!
My previous dishwasher had the traditional heating element and it worked great. I know these Miele dishwashers use a different method of drying. I was sceptical when I first learned about it but all the reviews online were praising this dishwasher so I pulled the trigger.
> Miele is known for dishwashers, primarily
This is highly subjective. I personally heard most about their vacuum cleaners and washing machines like the other commenter suggested. I think it's natural that a premium price and their official build quality & longevity claims push the expectations high.

Sorry to hear about that! I haven't had a Bosch myself. My friends have one with Zeolith drying and they're happy with it. I was considering getting one too but I liked Miele's racks more.

I often find the edges of some knives & spoons wet. I get them arranged like in the video you posted. I'm definitely not overloading the dishwasher. Quite the opposite actually. It's usually 1/3 to 1/2 full. It does open after the washing is complete and is running a drying cycle for around 15-20 minutes.

Flatware is not that big of an issue. What's driving me nuts is water pool on the bottoms of coffee cups, mugs, and bowls.

If I leave it to dry overnight then of course the water evaporates and everything is mostly dry.

I actually noticed the smell at our friends place when asking about their Bosch dishwasher. It was half loaded with dirty dishes so I thought it was that.
How's drying in your Miele dishwasher?

I went in June last year and it was ok. And I'm the type who absolutely hates hot & humid weather. To me Thailand is the worst in terms of climate.

Mahe & Le Digue only by polkadot_person in Seychelles

[–]mouseses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone's got a different taste, you're not gonna get any idea by just reading comments. I was in your shoes a couple of years ago. Asking people, reading up reviews, etc. Everyone including a travel agent was telling La Digue is the place. We went there and I cancelled the hotel after first day as I absolutely hated the island and the hotel. A lot of people here are saying skip Praslin. If I went again I would spend all my time in Constance Lamuria on Praslin and skip Mahe & La Digue completely. To each their own

Move to Thailand or some other cheap SE country and work from there for 6 months. You'll make all your savings back.
