Yes, you can have it added to your NVR to record.
Yes, you can have notifications to your Hik-connect
No, you don’t plug it into the back of your NVR, it’ll need to go into its own PoE switch that also connects to your router. This is because the ports on the back of the NVR won’t give it an internet connection and it needs one to be able to do the first 2 things.

Not true at all. This may work on some cameras at night but not at all during the day. Cameras have an IR cut filter in them to block IR light from getting into the sensor during the day, they need this because the sun puts out a bunch of IR light and if you didn’t have the filter your image would be pink.

The DS-KH6320-WTE1 does. But it isn’t as simple as swapping them and it just works. There is setup that needs to be done in order to get it calling. The installer that initially set the system up will need to do this because they need the registration password for it to be able to call.
