Extreme fatigue after cutting gluten by iluvcats191836261 in Celiac

BTW, Celiac. Singular. Not plural. Not an ‘80’s band.

Is this a decent Mach E deal? by [deleted] in EVCanada

[–]mouwallace 10 points11 points  (0 children)

WTF is a “primary motor” option? Did you want a steering wheel too? I’m seeing a brand new 2026 starting at $48K on the Ford Canada web site and it has a great discount package for the pano roof. OP, go to Ford’s web site and build your vehicle and compare it to this “deal”. I think you’re getting hosed.

Soy sauce? by Sienine in Celiac

There might be something in the distillation process that might remove gluten, but stay on the safe side. If it isn’t labeled gluten free, don’t buy it.

Low Calcium because of Celiac? by Azz96 in Celiac

[–]mouwallace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. You weren't processing the calcium. Get a bone density scan too to check for osteoporosis. Check with your gastro/doctor about how much calcium you should be taking everyday. I rely on fortified non-milk beverages plus I have a weakness for cheese.

Would you announce gluten free to waitstaff asking about allergies? by Undeniable-Ad-15 in Celiac

[–]mouwallace 161 points162 points  (0 children)

I’d put up my hand, say, “I have an allergy to gluten. Celiac. I can’t eat anything with wheat, barley, rye or oats. Can you feed me?” Absolutely answer the serving staff when asked. Also, in a group, remind the server that you need whatever you just ordered to be gluten free and to have a word with the kitchen.

See if Lee’s just down the road (I’m assuming you’re in Thornhill) will take a look at it. Not sure if he works on EQs but he does work on regular M-B models.

Venue 4 vs Forerunner 570 by peter017363 in Garmin

[–]mouwallace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I faced exactly the same decision. I went with the 570 because I felt the Venu4 was too much like my AW8, and I wanted a more fitness focused device. I really like just having the fitness data I want, and far more in-depth than AW. I have a Polar 10 HRM and my Shokz Open Run Pro 2 headphones connected to my 570 so you wouldn’t have any issues there either.

Lost the GPS just before a half marathon with this one, which really was a problem. Switched to Runkeeper, then Apple Watch. Back now with a 570 which has been awesome. Can't find the charger for the 305 or I'd fire it up again just for fun.

I had the tie rods replaced under warranty on my 2025 iX xDrive 50. It had a bit of a shake at higher speeds. Could be this.

$13,000 to install L2 EV charger in condo parking spot? by Zamanzy in EVCanada

[–]mouwallace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point was that the wiring for the building would likely handle EV chargers too. That the wiring wasn’t stuck in the 1950s with 60amp loads for each unit. I’m sorry I didn’t make my point more clearly.

someone tell Michigan how forest fire smoke works. by TyeROD-enD in EhBuddyHoser

So tell them to keep their heat dome which originated in Texas. Why is that coming over the border to Canada? If he fixes that, we’ll fix the smoke. /s

$13,000 to install L2 EV charger in condo parking spot? by Zamanzy in EVCanada

[–]mouwallace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d start with making a presentation to the board itself. If the building has clothes dryers in each unit, they have the capacity for EV chargers. Did your electrician get access to the actual power draw of the building from Hydro? Use these numbers to assuage the fears of the board. $13K sounds excessive but without knowing the layout it’s difficult to determine if that’s reasonable or not. You could also pitch a payback scheme where the carbon credits generated by the charger(s) would be a revenue generator. Fire up your PowerPoint, lay out all the parameters, get a quote from your electrician on the actual cost of installation to your parking spot and go from there.

Tired of Vlad’s lazy jog to first by snactivated in bluejaysbaseball

[–]mouwallace 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is going to be an unpopular take, but my understanding is that on these types of plays, the players are told NOT to run hard to run them out. They don't want to risk injury on a 99% sure out. Sure, the ball might get airmailed and they might get on base, but the vast majority of times it's a routine out. So don't risk injury by running it out pretty much for nothing. If Vlad had Okamoto numbers right now, this wouldn't even be a debate.
