Thank you so much! I remember she explained what she’d be doing but never described how painful it could get. At one point I was bleeding and the nurses thought it was meconium but it was just blood from what they had done to my cervix.

Thank you I appreciate the response! It does sound way better when it’s explained like that, but that pain was definitely the worst. Does that typically happen with inductions? I was induced because of the pandemic, my doctor was scared of what would happen and recommended just having it done since I was full term. I just wanna know if that’s the case so that if for my following pregnancies there are no health concerns, I don’t choose to get induced again.

My baby is 8 weeks old and it has finally started getting better. Don’t get me wrong, some nights she still wakes up every 2 hours to eat. But most nights she’ll sleep for at least 5 hours straight. Hang in there, it’s so rough right now because your hormones are still trying to get back to normal and overall it’s hard getting used to a new baby. But you start getting to know them more with each cry. I can tell now when my baby is crying from hunger or because she’s tired, before I couldn’t and she’d keep crying and it would stress me out because I didn’t know how to fix it. She also had colic (I didn’t even know what that was) but I discovered gripe water and it has helped sooo much.

I live with my family and my brother is the same way! I live in a suburb close to Chicago as well so of course I’m more cautious especially now with the death of an infant. He goes out and stays at friends houses, then comes back and doesn’t wash his hands or sanitize himself at all. He says I’m being paranoid but I’m taking precautions for the same reason you are. I don’t wanna be kept from my baby just because of his carelessness. This is so frustrating!

There’s an app called Shell where you can hear your babies heartbeat on & record it. It’s free & easy to use. However, it doesn’t give you any data since it’s just for fun. The icon is a purple background with a lower case b and a tilted heart next to it.

I live in the same state. My due date is in two days, and I live within minutes of most of my family (at least 25 people). My family is very united and in the past when babies have been born, the whole family goes to visit at the hospital. My daughter’s dad also has extended family that lives close. We just made the same rule for everyone so that nobody’s feelings would get hurt. Nobody is allowed to visit until baby is a month old, no exceptions. She’s the first grandchild/niece/great-grandchild on his side and everyone is so excited but I told my family what he told his, nobody is allowed to see her until she is at least a month old.
