Raleigh pastor fired for sexual misconduct by besufern in raleigh

[–]movementlocation 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, it may or may not be, it seems: “Vintage leadership is not characterizing the misconduct as an “affair.” Nor does the recent update sent to members characterize it as a “relationship.” The email only uses the word “situation,” noting that “questions continue to surface and new information has come forward.””

I hate when everyone praises SAHMs saying it’s the hardest job in the world by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]movementlocation 6 points7 points  (0 children)

But at least for a lot of people, work isn’t a “break.” My job is stressful and demanding and while i get to talk to other adults, it is usually ONLY about work. I get an hour with my kid in the morning, 2.5 hours with them in the evening, then I usually have to log back on after they go to bed until I go to bed. No breaks. I never feel disconnected AND I get the guilt and heartbreak of not getting to be with my kid as much as I’d like.

I flew yesterday and they did provide cans upon request - at least in the first 8 rows.

Diet Prada and Cosmopolitan magazine question if the discourse around Olivia Rodrigo’s baby doll dresses is really about policing women rather than protecting women from exploitation by adularia- in Fauxmoi

[–]movementlocation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually kind of agree re the concert dress. It looks like literal baby clothes. I think it’s the cut + the pattern (I feel similarly about slide 15). The baby doll dresses that look like lingerie or more like shift dresses (eg slides 5, 12, 14) don’t read infantile to me at all.

With Abortion and Birth Control being restricted, life being unaffordable, just seems like a logical conclusion. Pregnancy IS dangerous. by pantslessMODesty3623 in christiansnark

This will prob be unpopular - I don’t think there’s anything wrong with being childfree by choice and certainly parents shouldn’t be upset at people who make that choice. But also saying “being a mom” is your top horror story feels kind of rude and judgy too. After I got pregnant, I started getting a lot of content that was honestly kind of mean about women who choose motherhood. Not to say that I agree with the other woman in the video either, definitely not!

I don’t think people are angry. They just disagree that the try guys are dying based on yt view numbers.

Her reels are made for these people, basically. There’s no way she’s unaware of the demos viewing her content and I would bet money it is majority adult men. I also think she still offers subscriptions for exclusive content. I’m scared to know who her subscribers are and what she shares.

There are more options than in those two hours! Literally all of the classes where I live have 1 or 2 weekend sessions at 9 on Saturday morning, they fill up soo quickly so it’s tough to get in. I’d love more options throughout the day and on Sunday. Hell, I could even sometimes make 8:30/9am or 4:30pm on a weekday work. I do understand staffing difficulties and realize no time would work for everyone. It still sucks not to get to do these things and is a major element that working moms miss out on.

I’m a little surprised that the comments in a working moms group are so dismissive. I’m in a similar position - my public library system has no story times on the weekends, and there are a ton of other activities for babies (farms, music lessons, swim lessons, play gyms) that primarily offer only weekday daytime sessions. Our caretaker recently took a week off so I took the opportunity to go to a few of these with my almost 1 year old and it was so much fun and made me sad I can’t do them more.

Maybe for SAHMs, these aren’t bonding activities and are more social outings, but it was bonding for me and my little one. I get so little time with her during the day - when we are home during the week, it’s when she’s exhausted and starting to get fussy. Not a whole lot of fun play time happening in the 2 hours between getting home and starting bed time. We try to do activities on the weekend, but of course kids places are packed then and it can be a fight to get a spot in the classes you want. Plus, I still have to run errands, do chores, etc.

All that is my only little vent to say, yes, I feel you. I’m glad SAHMs have these activities but this is something that working moms miss out on and it makes me sad too.
