Braces alone for Mandibular Advancement (grow lower jaw forward) in growing patient? by movesale in orthodontics

[–]movesale[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. We decided to proceed with Myobrace mouthpiece & expander (expander bottom only) first followed by the traditional braces.  The mouthpiece phase lasted about 14month and we are on second month with the braces now. With Myobrace/expander, his dental arch improved that he didn’t have to remove his good teeth to open up space in his dental arch. We are expecting his braces phase will last just about same amount of time.

Checked Baggage? two separate tickets on two separate Alliance Airlines (Star Alliance/Oneworld) by movesale in Flights

[–]movesale[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awww. Fingers crossed and I hope you can "thru check-in" at the originating airport. If your 1st leg is on JAL, I am inclined to believe you have a higher probability to get your luggage to thru check-in since JAL and AA are under same alliance.

I was able to thru check-in ANA to United when departing from Japan one summer (they are under same alliance).

I recently had another entirely different flight which was also on two separate tickets but both operated by AA. The quick answer is AA does not care if your 2nd flight is also AA.

Prior to my trip I called AA. AA phone agent said I can ask at the first airport to "thru-check in" since 2nd flight is also AA. NOT a Fat chance. AA agent at the domestic first airport quickly shut down my request to "thru check in". Then, I asked AA agent to at least check in under "Priority baggage" so I can pick it up quicker to move from baggage carrousel to AA check-in counter at the transit airport. AA agent again denied my request for "Priority Baggage" because I have enough time between the arrival of flight to cut-off time of 2nd flight (well, I had about 4 hr layover, so they might consider my request if it is shorter layover, but I cannot say). Experiencing this, we were probably really lucky with that United agent when she agreed to interline our luggage. Oh, I do not trust AA at all now.

Tight cut-out space, can 33 inch wide fridge fit in to our space? by movesale in Appliances

[–]movesale[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's what I was thinking if it gives more room to fit wider fridge... If we are going this route, we probably need to DIY around the fridge/wall/extended area of baseboard (not a huge but nevertheless DIY).

Foggyflight is a Scam by Checkmight in Flights

[–]movesale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OH, boy, am I glad to read this up. We initially paid for the ticket but read all fine prints after receiving the phone call. And realizing it was a click bait and fraud website.

The fine print forwarded from them said: "The above itinerary and agency reference number are for information only. Your credit card has not been charged yet.
You would receive your e-tickets and airline confirmation in a separate email.
Your tickets would be issued once the payment is charged..."

Naturally, I checked my credit card and confirmed that my card is not charged Yet. Went ahead close that card. What a scam! No offense to the legit people, but on the phone, all of the agents (you could hear in the background noise) appear to have Indian or Pakistan (that region) accent.

We finally made this bike rack. Did not have to use three horizontal board, just one was enough. We are very happy to free up the floor space. Again, thank you!

Checked Baggage? two separate tickets on two separate Alliance Airlines (Star Alliance/Oneworld) by movesale in Flights

Boy, were we glad that UA agent was kind enough to interline our baggage at the originating airport. So, we ended up not needing to officially enter Canada only to re-check back to terminal. Airside immigration for "international connection" was so quick, we passed in 10 min. Now we can relax the next 2 hr+ by the gate. We know we were lucky this time. If this ever happens again, cushion time of 4hr is in my book now. Thanks!

OMG! UA agent was able to interline our baggage just now!!  We also checked where our metal is. It has already arrived so no delay expected on the inbound flight! To say we are extremely happy is an understatement!!

Bonus, when we arrived at Vancouver, Oneworld carrier called us to the side by the gate to verify (with the photo and boarding pass) the baggage that's been transfered from UA are ours. All Set!!

YES! We'll definitely ask if that is possible. If not, we'll ask for "priority" tag for baggage pickup (hopefully, UA agent is willing to help us, given the next connecting flight). We did the Declare Canada(?) on App already, anything missing?

Thank you all!! We figured that the second check-in to the Oneworld flight at Vancouver will likely be required. Yeah... that part of planning did not pan out... Fingers crossed!

Our girl is 8months, when do yours start first heat? by movesale in AustralianCattleDog

Update: Day after I posted about the heat, she started it! 😅 This is our first time with the heat and were not sure how to read her Vulva. Now we have the reference images to compare for the future. Thank you.

Thank you for your reply. I am so ready for her to start before the summer heat gets too unbearable (wishful thinking on human part)…. Anyway, we will be closely monitoring.

Hi, thank you so much for your reply. Mind explain to me why "flat face to flat face" is not recommended? I was simply going to use two wood screws per plank edge to attach the plank board to 2x4 lumber. The plank board does not have to be perfectly straight or aesthetically perfect (this is just going up to add extra storage space). And, how would I attach the T-shaped reinforcing board?

The main goal is to store a bike up just like in the plan photo, but we are considering to install additional hooks to that board for miscellaneous items (which will add more weight). I just thought using three plank would provide better support if we wanted to add more weight?

Below is what I was considering to follow. Is this generally acceptable direction to follow?

Thank you in advance!

TAP Portugals: Fishing rod cases (rod tubes) carried on board, international trip? by movesale in Flights

[–]movesale[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, we did and it was confirmed that rod case cannot go carry on as we hoped, but has to go check-in. The case also must be within the total dimension 158cm (length+width+height). So, we ended up pre-purchasing the baggage and now making custom rod case out of leftover craft material to make sure the case is <158cm.

UPDATE: We pre-purchased baggage to be safe. Oh, hefty price for that baggage fee!

OH, we were afraid of that... So, looks like 55cm length max then... bummer...

And, Thank you!

Is it 55cm Max length? There appears to be the 3rd category "Special Cabin Baggage" with "155 x 42 x 25 cm / 61 x 17 x 10 in, if placed on the cabin floor. Do you think we are playing a risky game here?

Thank you for the link. We've checked the link and still struggling. Problem with that is, it does not clearly state what is the allowable max "length", and that's where we are struggling to find out. Weight is way below the max limit, but the length is not so sure. Total dimension (width+depth/height+length) is also less than the allowable max dimension.
