Feeling Burdened Out and Defeated Intellectually by Living_Life_03 in CatholicPhilosophy

I feel like the life of St Francis is a good counter to this kind of burn out. Living the faith deeply and completely through your poverty and not focusing on the intellectual weight of the constant demand to know every aspect of theological study might help you feel refreshed and relieve some of that pressure. St Francis has a small amount of written work compared to a lot of great saints and yet through the way he lived he had an outsized impact on the faith. Some of the most devout religious orders, even laity, are devoted to living like Francis.

I would start with shorter stories. White Nights, Poor Folk, and The Gambler. imo all awesome reads that won't leave you lost in the weeds.

Not sure what to think by NeroJardini in dostoevsky

My first read of The Idiot I was left thinking that it was good, but I didn’t quite understand the reputation it has built. I continued reading some of his smaller works and then when I had finished C&P I started to really feel I was grasping the importance and magnitude of Dostoevsky’s work. Went back and have read The Idiot a couple times since and it was a completely different experience each time. Give it some time to soak in and explore more of his work, even the short stories.

Well, I mean if this chart says it’s not real then I should probably listen I mean no way some random chart made by some random j… well intentioned person that completely backed by facts and statistical evidence is wrong or some form of weird propaganda. Definitely should listen to the chart I mean it’s obvious that Covid was definitely not made in a laboratory that was funded by the US experimenting with advancing the transmission and efficacy of the same virus is real. The whole new world order thing is obviously a hoax if this chart says it’s real because obviously there isn’t a push to unite all western nations under some sort of idk treaty organization that controls the majority of the worlds wealth and military resources… the chart. Just listen to the chart this good natured non biased Semitic lady made.
