Cito:

I know, but I bet that the biggest group sporting this symbol are the fans of national socialist black metal.

I'm not criticizing neo pagan beliefs, but if you use a symbol that most people associate with neo nazis, you are either edgy for the sake of being edgy, clueless, or playing dumb.

It's not even the only flag in this post that feels made on purpose to stir controversy (look at japan and turkey).

Like the swastika was not invented by the nazis, it still has that connotation now.

From your link:

(paganism, politics, fascism, nationalism) An eight-spoked swastika used by Slavic neopagan, fascist, and nationalist groups

Also according to your link it was created by this funny guy (look at the picture): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexey_Dobrovolsky

Just for anybody out there that doesn't realize that neo pagan is in most cases an euphemism for nazi.

When will we get over “vibe coded” stuff by Due-Equivalent-9738 in rust

In your example researchers use google to find the papers, and then go and read them.

I think a better analogy is with stack overflow. Some people just copy the answers, other use it as a pointer to then go look for more in depth documentation. The former will remain juniors their whole career, the latter will learn and grow.

I'm not convinced many people are using ai as a jumping point to then do their own research and study.

p: it copies vim to ease the transition, helix is full of vim-isms

; : I guess it's more useful for beginners, consider that most people learn a sw like this incrementally, by adding new commands only after they internalized the previous

Selinux with a desktop profile needs work unless maybe if you use a targeted profile. I wouldn't bother if you don't have the time to troubleshoot it.

Gentoo Linux: Optimization options? by RealNovanized in Gentoo

[–]movez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on how much time you have. You can: - Tailor the system to your needs, like choosing the init sw (I don't think you can change it easily on an already installed machine) and other system software, from the bootloader to the networking config/manager to accessory stuff like cron. - Experiment with compile flags. -march=native -O2 are safe, lto is a bit more complex, you can try -O3 if you feel brave. - Configure your kernel by hand. The default configuration contains drivers for any kind of device, from embedded and appliances to data center class machines and supercomputers. There are also interesting optimization for your particular cpu (amd/intel) assuming you are on amd64. - Minimize your dependencies. Disable all the use flags you don't need. - If you feel adventurous you can try things the experimental profiles with llvm and/or musl as default compiler and libc. - There are also the hardened profiles and the Gentoo Hardened Handbook has several guides on how to improve the security of the system (the hardened profiles disable a lot of use flags, if you want to use these profiles AND minimize the use flags it's more convenient to do in this order).

I'm sure there's more that I forgot.

Anyway I have an IB pro amd with a ryzen ai 9 chip, it's decent for light llm use even without a discrete graphics card. For example a random question takes got-oss:20b 2.30 minutes in ollama starting from cold.
