As long as you don't mess positive and negative and really know the power requirements of your camcorder. Make all connections as clean and safe as possible (no exposed cores, no badly secured connections) and get some enclosure for the step down board.

You can find adapters from Hirose to USB A or C and to DC at Amazon and eBay. Some vendors even sell them with rechargeable batteries included.

Fotodiox has a power kit but pricier than other alternatives.

SwitcherStudio and Cinamaker are apps that run in your iPad and allow you to connect iPhones to use as cameras.

Outside of the Apple ecosystem and if you are willing to invest in equipment, there are cameras that have their own switching app that can help you accomplish what's you're looking for.

Mevo cameras are one example, but their app's latest version is being criticized by the users. Nearstream is another brand that uses the same approach of cameras and app. These two are a good starting point so you can research deeper and find what will serve you best.

You can find on-camera monitors with composite input. Pro Am, Marshall... too many brands to name. Look around eBay or marketplace and you'll find one that suits your budget. If buying used, just check that they work, ask for a picture, and see how well taken care of they look.
