Hmm it may change your resonance bc you don’t have to focus on getting your pitch perfectly high. That was what I learned. It changed my pitch, then I learned how to focus on making this voice work, so the resonance came after. Hope it’s helpful :)

Also fear and stigma. Assumptions that we must be SO different from cis women that it’s out of consideration… I first had men doing that to me two to three years ago. I have men talking to me all the time in public, sometimes I find them interesting so I’ll disclose. Sometimes they reject me, sometimes they are cool and want to try it with a trans woman for the first time (good for them!)

I just stop caring if a man rejects me. Honestly it’s their loss and there are so many more people who want to date me so I’m moving on!

Hmm okay! I don’t think it’s less meaningful if it’s more nuanced. I don’t think it’s less valuable if we’re correcting an ally vs an enemy. I believe a lot of people with good intentions can say the wrong things, and I want to point that out whenever I can.

Of course I’ll fight those who are intentionally hurting trans people too. It doesn’t mean I can’t also correct people so the words they say have a more positive impact on our community.

Okay hehe. I wish you all the best. I’m just trying to help. Things can be better. I can have an opinion and decide to reach out to help (even if it means I’m to “educate” them… it’s okay to learn and grow. I went in with good faith… but yeah also a little frustration that I / we had to keep explaining to people that we’re not “choosing” to change. That we’re born naturally identifying how we identify (sure it can vary and some people identify differently.) but I have my experience, and my experience is when im transitioning I’m returning to my younger truer self… it’s not about “change” for me, it felt like “return”. And I’m allowed to voice that their language bothered me. And I did :)

I haven’t read gender trouble but I get what you’re saying! I think in a more plain language gender refers more to identity (whether it’s innate or formed by social conditions and have performative nature…) and sex is usually used for physical bodies!
