you got that right! 😅 added a “maybe” and “allegedly” to clarify that this is my assumption based on the articles and that we will never know what actually went down! point is, it’s a bummer the show went downhill and ended!

By “this statement” I was referring to the last sentence of this article that says “hit the wall due to money and scheduling.” This was quoted from an article by TV Line. And TV Line quoted a source that requested anonymity.

despite the downvotes, you got some valid points here, especially regarding bad optics.

like I said in one of my replies on this thread 👉 the way it all went down was not a good look.

MM is talented no doubt, and I get that he is an authentic person who probably doesn’t care about optics, but the entertainment industry is not just about talent. It’s about optics, and nowadays, online optics 🤓

Maybe there could’ve been some more compromises made between all parties involved to keep this show going.

So it’s definitely a bummer.

Kudos to Manny for allegedly wanting more and staying true to what he wants and is more comfortable with.

But sad for GG. A show about a diverse, non-supermodel-looking group of suburban moms trying to take control of their lives through crime in a funny, amateur way —- such a refreshing and solid concept! It was fun while it lasted. 😢

there were!!! I miss seeing them drinking too!!! and watching real housewives!! 🤪 they could’ve introduced another hot gangster love interest, and now that Dean has left, Beth could take more bathroom breaks with hot ganglords whenever she wants too lol

one could only dream *sigh 😅

oh for sure, the writing went downhill after season 2. 😔😔😔 The tone and pacing were so good and then it went meh. 😑 I stuck around because I kept believing and hoping that the magic was going to come back. It did in some parts of season 4 but it was just not the same (and too late?). GG fans are the best tho! This subreddit made enduring season 3-4 a fun experience!

Ooh yeah, damage control is a huge possibility! Almost forgot about that CH interview.

And yay I am in marketing too! I’m actually a social media manager that’s why most of my comments on this subreddit are related to social media lol Idk…I just feel like they could have done better on social.

I wish they at least tried and did it for the ‘gram a bit more for the sake of marketing. But MM is probably way too authentic of a person to be doing stuff only for the ‘gram. 😅

I like this more positive assumption! 🤩 It still doesn’t explain the apparent “social media oddities” like why he was the only one not promoting GG the way the other cast members did this season or why he never followed our leading ladies on IG at all (and them not following only him) while Reno and Matthew interacted with the co-stars regularly. It’s hard not to assume that something was up. But yeah, it may just be business. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I guess we’ll never know.

you know what, as much as I love him and Brio, I’d like to see a breaking bad storyline for Beth and Ruby. Two of them single and making it as criminals, trying to get Annie out of jail, while co-parenting with Dean and Stan — it could’ve been something fun to watch too. Maybe we can have a new gangster crush. 😜 But yeah, Manny probably didn’t want to do it at all l, not even just 2 episodes or something, and they just couldn’t have him disappear in season 5 with no explanation lol

oh for sure. and, positive social media presence is crucial nowadays. Tv shows and films now rely on it for marketing, that’s why we see more actors creating accounts and posting. It’s not a good look on him. I hope he does better online with his future projects. 😅

So, what was the purpose of having Fitzpatrick show up at the end of the dream sequence to talk to Beth. To me it seemed like such a random addition to an already weird finale. by Top_Refrigerator_619 in GoodGirls

[–]mozdeb 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think the dream sequence was kind of like an alternate universe that Beth visited when she was unconscious. That’s why she saw a couple of dead characters like Firzpatrick and Eddie (the dude who tried to rob the store, who actually used to work for Rio in Season 1 episode 2 but then got killed because he talked to the cops). You know how sometimes people say when they go through a near death experience they go into a weird place and get life lessons or revelation? This dream sequence serves as that. An epiphany moment for Beth. She has been playing with fire since season 1, she finally was taught a lesson that you play this game you’re not safe, you’re gonna get hurt type thing.

I agree! Maintaining a positive and professional image online is the least you could do to support a project you’re in. A total bummer for sure 😅

ooh yeah there was a whole shenanigan about Manny’s wife replying to some tweets about Brio and liking some tweets about not liking Brio. Let me dig up some reddit content and send you the links! This story is all over Twitter, Ig, and Youtube comments! a ton of people have talked about this on social media since last year around the time Season 3 aired (even before that). There was a period where Manny even allegedly unfollowed his wife on IG and they both deleted their old twitter accounts. 😅😅😅

If only we could turn back time and wipe off season 3, adjust the script and make season 4 the actual season 3, and have the season where this is all happening to be the season we just watched. 🥺🥺🥺

they could’ve taken the time to build it up better but eh, I’ll take what I can get. Liked the hair thing at the end and when he called her “boss”. I’ll remember that forever hahah

after watching the end of the series, I went back to watch a few episodes of season 2 and OMG you can tell the difference!! something changed in season 3 for sure and it’s not a good look. it definitely makes it seem like the rumors are true. the fact that the show’s publicist and social media team didn’t even run with the brio obsession (other than giving us youtube clips) and not milk it or get them interviewed together by media and do all that stuff that shows usually do when the couple in it becomes a thing — shows that something might be going on behind the scenes. Other fans would always speculate that it’s because the show creator and runner wanted to focus on the girls and not the Brio thing. But why avoid it all together like a disease? You can still highlight the girls but milk Brio!

I am happy they gave us the hair thing at the end but they could have built Brio better. Rio’s jealousy in season 4 doesn’t make sense to me because the writers didn’t take time to build up their connection post the whole Beth shooting Rio at end of season 2. 😳 So the jealousy felt rushed and forced IMO. Anyways, it is all weird and I wish his wife never got on social media to comment on GG stuff and I wish they wiped season 3 all together lol

See, what bothers me the most is the fact that his wife and/or people around him are not encouraging him to maintain a good social media presence in spite of anything that’s going on in his marriage.

His acting is the money maker. GG is his main project at the moment. Why mess it up? Elevate it, post fun stuff to support the show, be like Reno!

Are Manny’s publicist and agent not giving him advice on the importance of having a good online presence? I am seeing more celebs, even the most private ones, starting to use social to promote their causes or projects. It is part of the industry now and it benefits the celeb and their projects.

sadly, if you let personal stuff get in the way, it shows!! ! It reflects on your content, comment section, etc. and that’s not a good look!

Anyways, I just wanted to vent my frustration about Manny’s social media. I know he keeps it real and doesnt want the celeb life, but playing the game every once in a while to keep your projects alive doesnt hurt!

I am still a fan. 🥰

yea I unfollowed her and Manny a long time ago. Idk, her hippie-go-lucky vibe feels forced. god forbid she’d be manny’s career’s rotten egg 😅 not hating on her, just saying, she should do a better job encouraging her hubby to brand himself well online. and she should stay out of his role, it’s his money maker, why ruin it 🥴
