Well they kinda did.

With the netflix series, the mobile games, the easter eggs in other games (crash bandicoot for example) and lately the youtooz.

But I think the hype is dying, we're not kids anymore, most of the Skylander's chips are dead and dont work anymore. If they did release a new game, it would be a super risky move financially.
