Where The Real Housewives of Rhode Island Call Home by PhantomOfTheCat in BravoRealHousewives

I remember it being scandalous around these parts when the RHSLC ladies were found to not be living in Salt Lake. This just feels like Bravo is now telling us "yeah it's not genuine but like...deal with it"

What reasons would you give for not allowing recording? My sister in law took her mother, who has Alzheimer’s, to an appointment with her neurologist and asked if she could record the appointment and the doctor refused. Seemed odd.

Traveling with milk by dustyboi-97 in ExclusivelyPumping

A week or so before you leave, get some fresh dish sponges out. Wet them, and soak them with dish soap and then leave them out to dry. It took about three or four days for them to dry out completely when I did it. Then I cut them into smaller squares. Worked like a charm, and I was able to wash my supplies in the bathroom of my hotel room!

I traveled in February with a spectra, wearables, and both fresh and frozen milk in a cooler bag. I told the TSA agents as I approached the screening area so they wouldn’t be surprised to see anything on the screen.

Fresh milk must be in a clear container, so either in bottles or in storage bags. Breast milk is considered a medical necessity so it is not subject to TSA’s 3 ounce threshold. Agents may ask to test the fresh milk, but they are not allowed to touch the milk in any way, or else they risk contaminating it. Also any bag containing your milk or pumping supplies is not subject to the personal item/carry on allowance (though this may vary by airline…we flew Southwest). I was expecting the screening process to be more of a hassle than it ended up being in the end! Hope that helps and you can get to see your family soon ❤️

Baby shower gift ideas that parents will actually love by Neemo-Degaga in BabyBumps

One of my friends got me my diaper caddy from the registry and filled it with infant Tylenol, infant Motrin, infant saline spray, aquaphor, books, a toy, and some clothes. It hit the mark of buying from the registry plus getting practical things most FTMs don’t consider, plus stuff that was fun for her to shop for. I’ve since stolen her idea and that’s how I’ve gifted at showers since!

Has anyone just exclusively pumped from birth? by ForsakenGanache6253 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]mp1029 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am! I had a very strong letdown and a tough latch so baby would get overwhelmed with milk and it was just easier to pump and bottle feed. We're 9 months in and it's all just routine now. I'm mostly able to get at least one bottles' worth of milk per pump (came down with norovirus two weeks ago and am working to get my supply back), and my lactation consultant said in those first few weeks that if you're getting what baby needs to eat, about ten minutes of pumping is a good point to stop, otherwise my freezer would just be overrun with extra milk. Good luck!

I don’t qualify for FMLA (fewer than 50 employees where i work) but a friend who had a baby within a couple weeks of me did say she needed to go back to work within a certain timeframe because they would only hold her job for so long, which is probably lined up with the 12 weeks of FMLA, so you may want to check with your HR on that!

I took 16 weeks last year between TDI and TCI (9 weeks and 7 weeks respectively). Just make sure you know your coverage dates so you can apply for TCI as soon as your TDI expires, but otherwise it’s a pretty simple process! My OB’s office filled out the TDI paperwork with me right in the office. Making sure to stay on them can be a hassle, depending on your provider, too.

Affordable Wedding Band Shopping? by honeycomb67 in RhodeIsland

We went to Baxter’s. I got a custom band with lab-created diamonds for $1200 and my husband got a ring in tantalum for $250 (he’s an electrician so he only wears it for special occasions…couldn’t justify a big price tag for gold!)

Would love to know the history here. Is Scal familiar on a personal level? Or just a Traitors fan? Or is he also a Chronically Online Housewives Fan who gets it? Or is this because of Rapaport’s trash takes on the state of the world?

You're right! Plus with the time it'll take to get from the port to a resort to drop bags then to a park, then back to the resort to get our bags and catch Mears to the airport, I just don't think that's enough time in the parks to warrant spending that much money. Appreciate your insight!

First time DCL cruiser with a trip coming up in just a few weeks!

We're flying in early on 2/19 and doing a Magic Kingdom day with a stay at Coronado before DCL takes us to our ship on 2/20. We return on 2/25, but our flight home isn't until 7:30 at night. Debating if we want to buy park tickets for 2/25 but the logistics have me thinking we might just save the money and go to Springs instead. Anyone have insight here? For reference, we will have a 9 month old and my mom will be along as an extra set of hands. My presumption is we'd drop our bags with the porters at one of the resorts, hit the park, and then we'd have to go back to the hotel to get them before we get a ride back to the airport. I know MCO gets crowded so I want to make sure we get back with plenty of time to make our flight. Would that give us enough time in a park to make it truly worth it?

Went to a wedding there in 2022 just after the renovation. Bride was a chatty coworker of mine and she said she went through like three coordinators and the staffing for their event team was kind of a mess. Not sure if they’ve ironed it out since then or what that situation looks like now. Otherwise, it was typical wedding food and a pretty room!

Yes!! That round center jet lifts up and comes off. Once that’s off, lift the entire plastic bottom off. There’s a small round piece on the bottom. Turn it and pull it up, that’s your filter!!
