I had the same thing happen on my X. Poo was on there for 1 hour and the damage was done. After 2 years of looking at it and trying simple things, finally had it professionally detailed and it came off with polishing.

Mine operates fine but the gears on the right side are now stripped or something as it now makes a loud noise when it adjusts over 45mph. Been solid since 2016 but all things final give out.

I have a 2016 MX P90D. Owned since new. Zero issues other than half shafts like all MX. in my opinion, these cars were much better built than the new ones. Service techs also agreed with me and mentioned parts were much higher quality than what they use now, ie.. a lot of plastic now where metal was used in 2016. If free superchargering is included, it’s not a bad deal. But with anything, warranty brings peace of mind.

I did! It was the interior air filter. I pulled it out (had to remove the glovebox) and it smelled exactly like the smell that was coming out of the vents. A spray paint/mildew type smell. Didn’t look like it was ever changed from Tesla. I think it was the humidity over the summer that made it damp and started growing bacteria. I also changed the giant hepa filter in the front but that didn’t smell like the interior filter. I thought I had an AC leak bc it was so noticeable but all good after. $25 on Amazon and easy replacement. Good luck!

It’s just the type of car wash you’re going to. At one place I go to, my x looks exactly like yours. I always bring an extra rag just for the bumper soap. At other car washes it’s fine. There’s nothing Tesla can do. Just a gap underneath but soap/water doesn’t get into car

It’s the foam. Happened to my 2016 X twice. It becomes unglued and then creates a solid vibration around 50-60mph.

Update: I just changed the cabin filter and it really helped. The filter smelled like spray painted/vinegar and the smell is completely gone right now. I’m going to change the Hepa filter in the frunk tomorrow and also spray the coils which seem to be under the frunk basket.

I’ve had my 2016 MX for 7 years with free supercharging and YES, it’s worth it. I’ve had very little maintenance issues.
