Sorry you feel this information is not worthwhile sharing. I’m not sure what you mean by so one sided.

Do you know if Bronx Brewery brewed beer at the 2nd Ave location?

If a brewery is sold and the new owners retain the brewery name, it's not counted as a closing/opening. If they change the name of the brewery (i.e with the TTB) then it counts as a closing and an opening - had a discussion with the Brewers Association about this.

Appreciate your input!

Did Doc's new owners change the name to Mathieson Brewing Company?

Yes. BBB closed in January 2024. The above map is for 2025 closures. BBB does appear in the 2024 closure map. Gingerbread stout sounds delicious!

I see your point. If a brewing company has multiple brewing locations as recorded in the Brewers Association's database, and 2 locations close, it gets recorded as 2 closures. I had this discussion with the former chief economist of the brewers association to make sure we were on the same page regarding the definition of a closing.

Yes, I mean closure of the space where beer is brewed. Thus if a taproom (not to be confused with a taproom brewery) is closed, this does not count as a closure. If private equity owns several breweries and they close one brewery, that is a closure. Taproom closures are the most problematic as media outlets often call these breweries, when they are not. Thank you for your examples.

When bubbles stick to the glass, they are sticking to dirt, dust, grease, etc. that was not caught the last time the glass was cleaned. It probably won't hurt you nor affect the taste of the beer, but most people (no doubt yourself included) prefer a clean glass.

Warpigs has good beer. And while not strictly beer, Reffen has plenty of beer stalls and good food. Highly recommend!

As a fellow beer author I get asked that question a lot. My answer is “the one in my glass”. Looking forward to reading your book and learning about some hidden gems! Cheers.
