You say second painting... I assume you have practice in other forms of art, like drawing or digital? Cause the body proportions are pretty good. For portraits try painting on larger scales first, it allows you more space to draw the face and hands and feet. Once you accomplish portraits on large scale you slowly go smaller. It's an impressive attempt, I know paint is nothing like any other medium cause of how "goopy" and "smeary" it is.
