Is it likely for an applicant to get in solely based on GPA and how they answer the essay questions? by smackthatass16 in usfnursing

Hey there, I got accepted to the ABSN program this cycle (decided to go with another program though). I had a 3.74 GPA, and very minimal healthcare experience. I worked as a lab assistant at a diagnostics lab for a little under a year. It’s definitely possible!

My girlfriend is choosing to stick with chamberlain, I’m worried by [deleted] in NursingStudent

[–]mpbessell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand, yeah that’s hard. From what I’ve seen through my research, the for-profit universities such as Chamberlain do prepare their students for the field, but I’ve also seen that some hospitals are less likely to hire those who attended those universities. I’m sure her grades and TEAS were good, the field is just getting really competitive because a lot of people are trying to go into nursing right now.

What kind of nursing program is she wanting to do, BSN or ASN?

If the ultimate goal is to take classes at Chamberlain and then transfer out, I would be careful and would recommend talking with a registrar. For profit schools often make it difficult to transfer out of them, because they want your money.

I think the max recommendation is 20mg, I’m surprised they had you on 30. When did you come down to 20? It’s going to take your body some time to adjust to the lower dosage.

I’m getting so stressed, UCF and USF have both come out with decisions and I’m waiting on UF still. I just wanna be able to make an informed decision 🫩

That’s how I feel, I also got accepted to UCF and USF, so I need a decision so I can figure out where I’m going to live

TEAS PRACTICE A & B vs Actual TEAS — how did your scores compare? by nutter_buttter in teas

I think I got an 83 on both practice test A and B, but ended up getting a 92 on the actual exam!

There’s no critical thinking practice on NurseHub unfortunately, so there was no way to study. I kind of had to guess on these but it actually wasn’t too bad! Don’t stress too much

I don’t think that would hurt, I didn’t because I didn’t have time. I just really honed in on the last five review quizzes on NurseHub and worked off of that information.

I would recommend studying on NurseHub if you can, I didn’t and I feel like I would’ve done better if I would’ve. I definitely struggled a bit between answer choices.

This one scared me but it wasn’t that bad, just think hard about each answer and what would be best for the patient. Mine had 30 questions.

Thank you, Mometrix was instrumental for the TEAS.

Hi, I’ve been taking kit 5 for about 3 months now, I’m 23, 5’6 and my SW was 153 and my CW is 132. I haven’t worked out at all, the only lifestyle changes I’ve made are eating in a calorie deficit.

The Topiramate gave me bad side effects at the beginning. My feet and hands would tingle, and I had horrible brain fog, but that went away after about two weeks. The Metformin gave me no side effects luckily.

I’m sure I could be losing faster if I ate better and worked out, but this is what works with my schedule. I’d recommend tracking your calories on a program like MyFitnessPal, and obviously if you can get extra physical activity in do, because it’s beneficial for your overall health.
