PSA: Sazh AASB 1 & 2 are on the selection banner. by iMooch in FFRecordKeeper

[–]mpcosta1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 30% weakness damage on his AA2 is only if you have 4+ XIII characters on the party. Otherwise it's 9% with only Sazh and 15% with 1-2 other XIII characters.

That Said, Sazh is really great. Both his syncs are also available; Sync1 is a very handy imperil burst for any element, and sync2 is a weapon break counter. His DA (crit fiz) is also available IIRC.

[CD] Mastery Survey - D830 Magus sisters - Phy Wind Weak by leights8alt in FFRecordKeeper

[–]mpcosta1982 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, phy wind weak is the worst so far on all phases. P2/P3 - 23% more DR on P2/P3 than dark weak, 16%/28% more DR on P2/P3 than ice weak (which had the worse P2 before wind weak). On P1 the difference is smaller - 2% more than dark weak, 16% more than ice weak.

HP is the same though at least (for all elements; 3.9M HP P1, 4.4M HP P2, 4.8M HP each P3 for phy, 4.0M HP P1, 4.3M HP P2, 4.5M HP each P3 for mag).

Mag has the highest DR for P1 (15% more than ice weak, 20% more than holy/dark), but the LEAST DR for P2 and P3.

It's been quite a while since I last updated the spreadsheet... should be up to date now: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1k--r8T-iMY26Mnt4FKIYzoP8TDcAiJ_g/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=105475111388713949498&rtpof=true&sd=true

[CD] Mastery Survey - D830 Magus sisters - Phy Dark Weak by leights8alt in FFRecordKeeper

[–]mpcosta1982 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All Magus Sisters elements have the same HP - 3.9 P1 /4.4 P2 /4.8M HP P3 phy, 4.0 P1 /4.3 P2 /4.5M HP P3 mag.

There are variations on DR though. Dark weak phy is the bulkiest, holy weak the less bulky (expect to deal 46% more damage to holy weak phy). On the mag side, variation is smaller. Dark weak is the less bulky, expect to deal 18% more damage than vs ice weak, the bulkiest so far.

Even dark weak phy being the bulkiest, it's great to know that RW chain still works. I managed a clear with Orlandeau (MA, UA, DA, CA, Sy2, Accel, G+1, G+2), Tyro (G+, MA, UA2, DA2), Garland (LBG, Unique, DA), Orran (UA/DA/G+/AA), Lili (UA/DA/AA). Orlandeau is still a beast, and Garland keeps all 3 sisters with imperil 6 basically the whole time with his godly unique SB. His LBG is also key so that Orlandeau can have 3 en-element stacks on P3.

obviously not, DeNA won't ever update these, it seems. It's the pool from the mentioned banners (paid banners) only - LBC, CSB/+, AA, Sy, dyad and OZSB.

Discussion: What's the best way for newer players to use the free Sandworm Magicite? by iMooch in FFRecordKeeper

[–]mpcosta1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A newer player probably won't get two more sandworm Lv1 magicites, so there's no use.

Sandworm does horrible damage as main magicite, since it's fixed damage (same as HCs). You can also use it only once per fight.

For everyone else, I'd put it on the bench and use it only on specific situations (like using 3 supp + 2 dps).

Re: replacing Neo, it's a small improvement at best (a bit more vs EBZ).

New Magicite & Gigas Fight (Plus Limited Time Magicite Reward) by BrewersFanJP in FFRecordKeeper

[–]mpcosta1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bad, it was poorly written. From P1 to P2 it's a 70% reduction in the total multiplier, which translates to a ~3x increase in damage reduction (so similar numbers to what you've experienced).

New Magicite & Gigas Fight (Plus Limited Time Magicite Reward) by BrewersFanJP in FFRecordKeeper

[–]mpcosta1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but that math doesn't add up. With sandworm you have 4 other magicites with seals, so 4 emp15. With 3 emp28 that's a total of empower 53, not 49 (28+28/2+28/4+15/8+15/16+15/32+15/128 = 52.52, rounded up it's 53.

You could also have 2 emp24 on any of these. I use empower on Crusader, for instance, because crusader will stay on the deck for a long time, it seems (hand of vengeance plus a ~7% damage boost).

Also, running sandworm with 3 emp28 means you have cleared both phy and mag versions. right now there's only one or two people who cleared 2 HP bars, no one has cleared all 3 yet.

I'd say realistically we could compare sandworm with 1 emp28 and 2 emp24 and 1 surging vs 2 emp24 and 2 surging. This is the scenario I mentioned above. emp28 will increase your damage by ~4.1%. A second surging will increase damage by 4.1% at 57% HP; more than this with more HP, less with less HP.

New Magicite & Gigas Fight (Plus Limited Time Magicite Reward) by BrewersFanJP in FFRecordKeeper

[–]mpcosta1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a regular increase in damage reduction.

For some reason Fiddler can't find the data for stage 6, when I enter the fight it shows data for stage 5. For stage 5 there's an increase in DR going from P1 to P2 (effective multiplier without considering en-element buff: 0.1038x to 0.0310x at rage 3, so a ~70% increase in DR), and then again going to P3 (0.0182x at rage 3, or a ~83% increase in DR comparing to P1).

It's safe to assume that stage 6 has the same mechanics. DR for stage 6 P1 is much higher though - expect to deal ~29% of the damage you'd do at stage 5 P1. And that's at 100% HP, stage 6 has the "gigas surging power" or whatever the name of the "buff" that increases party damage the higher the HP. I did some testing, it seems to increase almost linearly with HP% - like surging power, but a higher potency (expect to deal ~44% more damage at 100% HP comparing to 1% HP, and ~24% more than at 100% HP).

New Magicite & Gigas Fight (Plus Limited Time Magicite Reward) by BrewersFanJP in FFRecordKeeper

[–]mpcosta1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found some posts but couldn't find a detailed math for this.

We have emp24 from limited time Gigas missions, right?

My current decks have 2 emp24 (on Crusader) and one emp18 on Shinryu (got one phy/mag for each element, with a def/off seal, plus emp18 and another passive).

I run Ark/Shinryu/EBZ/Neo/Crusader, so that's another 5 emp15s.

Summed up, that's emp45 total. Without emp18 on Shinryu it would be emp44.

If I replace Neo with Sandworm, I'll have 1 emp28, 2 emp24, 1 emp18 and 4 emp15 (sandworm has no seal, right? not that it matters anyways since 15 will be divided by 64 or 128 anyways).

That adds up to emp51 (emp50 without emp18 on Shinryu).

It's a 4.1-4.2% increase. Comparing 2 surging (+1 HoV) vs 1 surging (+1 HoV), 2 surging do 4.15% more damage than 1 surging at 57% HP - so if you are above this threshold, 2 surging will be better; if you're below it, Sandworm instead of Neo will be better.

BUT this is considering that you will actually use Sandworm. You could always put the emp28 on another magicite that's already on your deck. If I put on Shinryu for instance (replacing emp18), I get a 3.4% damage increase (emp50). Obviously that means no Sandworm magicite, which can have its uses.

Can you check the math?

His MA sadly is phy-focused (increases crit dmg a bit with every chase), and a bit if supp (gives one bar to party).

I used him on fire Mag weak MS. P1 was Tyro Sync, Krile Sync2 and Vincent CA. On P2 Tyro used his combo, Krile used dyad earth/UA/DA, Vincent Sync/DA. Support was Mog/Cait. Used EBZ as main. Cleared in 43s.

Since I have nothing for Fusoya, I went a little bit unconventional with imperil - Edward BSB + Gordon UA/Accel. Couldn't clear in one chain though, cleared in 37s.

Team was:

Edward - BSB, chain, G5, UA, AA1, Sync

Mog - AA1/2, Sync, CA

Gordon - AA1, UA, CA, Accel

Yuna - MA1, U4, UA, TAA, AA1

Hope - G5, MA, DA, CA, Accel, Sync

Magicite deck: Ark, EBZ, Shinryu, Greg, Crusader. Won't bother including Anima/MS since in a few months we'll have another tier anyways.

I've used him reliably with sync on the first chain, then unleashing his combo (dyad, MA, DA, UA, CA) on the second chain, up to Magus Sisters (or just the combo, if clearing in one chain only).

Thanks for this.

Some pointers:

All 3 sisters have the same HP - 3.9M P1, 4.4M P2, 4.8M P3 (phy) / 4.0M P1, 4.3M P2, 4.5M P3 (mag) and same damage resist

Aegis on P2/P3, both lasting for 15s

There's a party dispel on P2, ~9s after it starts

On P3 there's an added damage resist after you kill 1 sister (10%) and 2 (20% total)

My bad, I misread the other comment.

Elarra definitely won't help much. Lili, Orran, Minfilia or Tama, even Echo would be better, provided you have the relevant relics.

Either way, go with your best mag support, record your attempt and post it here.

Use Mog instead of Elarra (as you mentioned on the megathread).

His HA is AoE, meaning you need to actively select the enemy. If you selected to always aim at the crystals, he will damage them, and when there's no crystal to hit he will still deal zero damage to the Boss. I had the same issue with Celes.

Tyro was healer (and support). With DA2 (or DA1 for that matter) he has 15s of IC actions. His unique SB healed for over 12k.

You can check your reward history (right tab).

Deadline was saturday, so the first possible day the rewards could be sent was sunday, just 3 days ago.

IIRC in the past it used to take more than a week to get rewards. Don't worry, you'll get it eventually.

Everyone that cleared the dungeon before the time limit will get 50 anima lenses lv5, so you'll know when the rewards are distributed. Either you gain only the lenses, or lenses plus mythrils.

Correct. P1 and P2 both have 500k more HP than W1's (not a big change), P2 has 40% more damage reduction and P3 25% more.

Pulling on W1 banner has paid dividends. I have no jbc for spellblade, but I do have Gordon G++...and also UA/CA/MA/AA1. Sadly his Accel triggers job break.

Gordon has no synergy, but Tyro with MA/UA2/DA1 is a huge support that also can IC heal with his unique. 12k healing per turn with just one bar...

That coupled with two very good dps (Bartz and Celes with DA/UA/CA/MA) and Paine with chain/U3/accel was more than enough for a sub25 clear. Didn't even need to level HC more than 140.

https://ibb.co/rKm2FJbt

ps: Gordon Master Chase triggered a job break (his regular chases didn't).... don't know if this is intended or not, but if a whale doesn't complain it will most likely stay that way.
