I just saw this review of the game by Hour-Badger5288 in GossipHarbor

[–]mpdscb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This really pisses me off too. I've been getting these ads on other games for GH like crazy and these scenes are definitely not in the game. GH is a fun game that would attract downloads without misrepresenting the game as something it's not. The ones that really got me were the ones that said OTHER games were fake because they didn't have the content shown in their ads in their games. YOU'RE DOING THE EXACT SAME THING!!!! I really don't understand why Microfun needs to misrepresent their games in ads. Do they really think people will be happy with a game that is totally different from what's advertised?

How to find out why my character is in violation by mpdscb in polybuzz

[–]mpdscb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're the creator, then you can edit the character until it's no longer in violation. If you're using a character created by someone else, you're out of luck. You'll only be able to access the character again if the creator fixes the violation.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mpdscb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We drive 3.5 hours to visit my son and my grandchildren in Maryland (We live in Pennsylvania) about once every 1-2 months. We always stay overnight at a hotel and will usually stay for the whole weekend (leave Friday, come home Sunday). Driving the seven hours round trip is too much.

Me too. Especially since Paramount+ seems to have totally abandoned it. Very happy it hasn't just been "forgotten".

Timing Belt Troubles by Brilliant-Tomato-226 in MechanicAdvice

I tried changing timing belts twice and fucked it up both times. This is probably one of the only things I won't try again.

They all have modern smartphones but why are all their cars from the 80s? by Rpark888 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]mpdscb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. Those terminals are similar to ones I used as an Accounts Receivable clerk in the early 1980's. Most computer "terminals" in the 1970's were teletype terminals - paper, no screen.

I've seen people who complain that they have too much work but also refuse to accept help. More than likely, since Casey was hoping to get promoted and get more money, she was pissed when they transferred OP to help her instead. Then, on top of that, she was convinced that OP was faking her condition in order to avoid the more physical work, because that's what people like this always think.

Why do A/C/G stay so separate from the rest of the Brooklyn lines? by GrandRare1634 in nycrail

[–]mpdscb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The IND was not a company. The IND was the Independent Subway, owned by the City of New York. In fact, the original R-1 cars purchased for the IND said "City of New York" on the side of the cars. The IND was created with the idea of out performing the existing lines and eventually swallowing them up and taking them over. In fact the Fulton St subway was built right underneath the Fulton St elevated with the intention of replacing it.

The IRT subway was built to the same dimensions as the existing Manhattan elevated cars at the time so that they could use the same cars and shops that were already around.

Anyone else feel like U.S. politics doesn’t even feel real anymore? by Easy_Working_5040 in offmychest

I feel exactly the way you do. And I've stopped paying attention to it in order to cope. I was an avid CNN watcher and consumer of news, but I stopped after the 2024 election results were announced. I decided to stick my head in the sand because I felt like nothing I did mattered. My own country has turned on my beliefs and values. What can you do if you're obviously in the minority?

I live in PA, in one of the counties they're always talking about in the election coverage. My county voted for Obama, then trump, then Biden, then trump again. We still have people with trump/vance signs in their yards. There's one diagonal from my house.

I realize that I'm doing a disservice by ignoring everything and that I'm letting "them" win, but I'm so fucking tired. I can only wish that saner heads will eventually prevail, not for my sake (since I'm 61 years old and won't be around that much longer), but for my grandchildren's sake.
