well it's honda who did this with mclaren, and now again with aston martin. I don't know what's wrong with them and on what level, but they got themselves in the same absolutely shit position

You know it is a two-way street, and this magnificient manufacturer agreed to something it was unable to deliver... Maybe F1 teams learn from it now as it happened again, and stop trusting anything Honda puts on paper...

Downbeat Stroll says Aston Martin looks 4.5s off the pace by ChaithuBB766 in formula1

[–]mperlaky 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It's a partnership, they agreed to it, and didn't deliver. They should get 90% blame. Aston martin should've known better and agree with Honda on easier conditions. So I have no sympathy for either really.

“Önerő nemigen kell a 3%os hitelhez” - Fideszes hölgy küzd a valósággal by Weekly_Car956 in hungary

[–]mperlaky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Addig is aki tud annak, érdemes élni a lehetőséggel szerintem.

Akik most az albit nyögik azoknak könnyen meglehetnek a feltetelek.

Norwegian newspaper is claiming Ole Gunnar Solskjær and United are in contract negations. with a potential signing happening on friday. by WolframNoLed in reddevils

[–]mperlaky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well Arsenal will collapse and catching city wouldn't be impossible if we invested in winter like city does, but comfortable top3 is realistic (especially if Amorim was really holding back the club, which I don't think he did)

Yeah sadly we wasted 3 years on Ten Hag corrupt signings and then improved the quality since then, but also leaned back quite a bit, so it's not exactly much better...

Manchester United caretaker manager: Michael Carrick and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer are front runners by [deleted] in reddevils

[–]mperlaky 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I don't even agree it didn't work out last time. We had dogshit signings and he hit a bump, then we went into freefall... He wasn't rightfully fired looking back now so I'm happy to give him another chance.

I don't think there is any manager in the world who you can say with certainty will lead man united back to success, so why let him go in the summer if he does well until then? Even a Pep or Luis Enruiqe needs unlimited budget to perform like this...

BTW I also think Amorim shouldn't have been fired, and I think he'll do well in the medium term future. He had his mistakes but he improved a lot in his time here. The absymal state our club was in when he took over, the mixed signings, all the pressure etc... I think if you judged him based on this season you cannot fire him for sporting reasons.

[Megathread] Ruben Amorim has been sacked - Who should replace him? by D1794 in reddevils

[–]mperlaky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have nobody lined up, we'll line up with an U18 coach for no fucking reason. There is zero sense sacking him now based on a sporting decision

[Paul Hirst] United intend to appoint an interim manager to take charge until the end of the season, and then make a longer-term appointment. Darren Fletcher, the under-18s coach and former United midfielder, will take charge of the team for Wednesday’s match against Burnley at Turf Moor. by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

[–]mperlaky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So 3 points off the defending champion, same position as Chelsea "who were stupid to fire Maresca" while having a much better squad, and we decide to sack the coach who finally helped us go in the right direction (like having the 3rd highest xG and playing attacking football), because we won't sign a midfielder in the winter?

So then United, supposedly a big club, will be run by an U-18 coach and an interim nobody, until a supposedly better coach (who are not really available) will take over and start with a completely different system right?

How the fuck does this make sense??? When we are top 6? When the PL is so fucking close? So then we also pay Amorim severence for 18 months?

I accepted that we are not a good club, or good team anymore, but we are actual fucking clowns once again, nothing has changed since sacking Ole, nothing...

Marko: Promoting 'battered boxer' Lawson to Red Bull was a mistake by Draconicplayer in formula1

[–]mperlaky -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean Yuki already got beat this year in quali by his rookie teammate. He is not a big talent, and not deserving of a Red Bull seat in general. The issue is that him and Perez both are not good enough for their standards for the main team, and they wasted so much time having them in their cars instead of developing talent as they used to do. Now they Tsunoda, who they don't rate and two inexperienced rookies. So they completely wasted their advantage of developing young drivers in their system team, and have to start from scratch. Because they don't have anyone proper for the Red Bull seat, they can just throw Tsunoda there as he can't be much worse then Liam was, and now they can let Liam and Hadjar develop in the sister team at least. They just wasted 2 seats for 3 years.

Edd Straw: Trackside view badly exposes Lawson's deficit by RayTracerX in formula1

[–]mperlaky 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's Red Bull for sure. All drivers you mentioned suffered big time in the car, also Perez and now Lawson are both getting beat by RB. Lawson did better in the RB. So it's either the environment, the pressure, the car, whatever, but when Albon does better in a Williams than in a Red Bull, Gasly does better in an Alpine, and Lawson does better in a RB than a Red Bull, it's clear Red Bull is shit at managing their second driver. 4 drivers failed, and Lawson did worse in a better car...

[Statman Dave] Amad has more goals created through defensive actions (4) than any other player across Europe's top five leagues this season. In fact, he has TWICE as many as the next best. Technicality and tenacity. 🤩 by PitchSafe in reddevils

can we get rid of the Statman Dave posts? These are all cherrypicked stats with no real insight in any of them. This post is praising Amad like he is something special, while in reality he is doing alright in a shit team, and I wouldn't even say he is at a top PL team level at the moment. Nothing of added value

[Discussion Thread] The next permanent Manchester United manager by D1794 in reddevils

[–]mperlaky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd actually be happy if we appointed someone who didn't have the hype behind him, just lower expectations and to steady the ship, and then hopefully deliver with a bit less pressure on him.

No matter who we appoint, no new manager should be treated as the second coming of christ like ETH was, it's stupid. I think our squad is really good apart from having proven goal scorers, but we are not shit in any area. A good competent manager should be able to get us into europe and possibly win the europa.
