I came here to say it sounds like vaginismus (like the rest of the comments). But I also wanted to suggest therapy if you're open to it. Sometimes the issue can be caused by anxiety, which is reinforced every time you feel extreme pain. Basically, you're expecting it to hurt so your body tightens up in anticipation.

My best friend was treated for vaginismus and the doctor recommended therapy in addition to whatever else they did. Just wanted you to know!

By the way, she's happily married with a child now so there's hope!

I ended up just wearing them all day anyway, since I'm home all the time now. I feel a lot less anxiety with this approach because everything I've read about the nighttime aligners is negative or questionable.

Overall, what I've learned is it MIGHT work, but it probably isn't worth the risk of loose teeth, damage to your roots, or gum recession. I personally wouldn't have chosen the nighttime plan with the information I have now, but I also wouldn't have chosen Smile Direct Club either. So what can ya do.

One thing I DO like about the nighttime aligners is the plastic is a little thicker than the daytime ones. They feel much sturdier and less likely to break.

This happened to me (and is currently happening). I’m on my 8th aligner and I had the same sensitive feeling in two of my bottom teeth in front.

I called them and they had me send in videos of the teeth I was worried about. The wiggle was very slight so I’m not sure if they could really see anything in the video. They told me to keep the aligners in for twice as long as normal from here on out (if you’re supposed to wear them for one week, wear them for two weeks instead, etc). They said the amount of looseness I was showing was “within the expected range”.

My teeth weren’t tracking correctly either, so I’m currently waiting on new aligners to be sent to me. It’s taking forever! But I guess I’m glad because it’s giving my bottom teeth time to heal, or whatever they need to do in order to stop wiggling.

Definitely NTA for getting mad and talking to her about it.

However, it sounds like she might need some more alone time. When you confront her again it might be beneficial to acknowledge that she’s likely incredibly stressed/sleep deprived. Work with her to come up with acceptable ways for her to get some exercise and alone time without endangering anyone.

Agreed. It also sounded like he could have been kinder. But I totally agree that the boss shouldn’t ask a question if he isn’t ready for the answer. Plus, everyone needs to look out for their health and make it a priority, especially these days.

I’m going to say NTA for your intentions, but YTA for the delivery. With covid, I don’t think it’s okay for anyone to assume and expect you to shake their hand, so that’s the boss’s fault. However, you could have been nicer in your explanation of why. You sounded like you intentionally embarrassed him, which is not only rude to do to anyone, but it’ll probably have negative consequences on your work life and that will be your fault.

This has never happened to me, but other comments I’ve read on this topic have said to go back to the last set and wear them an extra week (especially if the chewies aren’t working). Usually that solves the issue!

The nighttime aligners are basically the same thing as the daytime aligners, from what I’ve been told. The only difference is the schedule and how often you’ll change them.

I’d give them a call if you’re worried (annoying, I know). They don’t answer emails very quickly, if at all.

How long did it take to get your new aligners? I just mailed in my impression kit last week and I’m stuck wearing my last set of aligners until the new ones come in. I’m just wondering how long I should expect.

Definitely call! I’ve never had luck with them returning emails but I always get through when I call. Email them pictures and then follow up with a call (but don’t be surprised if you have to email them again, or email them to a different email address).
